- Natural Gas: 201 trillion cubic feet

- Gold: 8,900 tonnes

- Iron Ore: 14,600 million tonnes

Individual companies like #ExxonMobil, #ConocoPhillips , BP ,and others might or might not decide to jump in, regardless of reforms the US government forces on the Venezuelan government.

But plenty of others will be willing to do so.

Look around what is happening all over this world today, so much of it being driven by President #Trump and US policy. The world is shifting, and fast.

🚨BREAKING: US Federal Prosecutors have opened criminal investigation Into Fed Chair Jerome Powell - NYT

When the system starts investigating the man who keeps the printing press running, you aren't looking at "justice." You are looking at the legacy ledger finally defaulting on its own survival. 🏛️

🇺🇸 Jerome Powell says DOJ is threatening the Fed with criminal charges for refusing to follow President Trump's interest rate demands.
#Polymarket is saying this is more political theater than an actual threat to Fed leadership.

If Powell being out were a serious risk then those odds wouldn’t still be this low after the headline.
Federal prosecutors in Washington have opened a criminal inquiry into Fed Chair Jerome Powell tied to the huge renovation of the Federal Reserve’s headquarters.

The question is whether Powell gave Congress misleading testimony about the scope and cost of the project.

The renovation budget has climbed into the roughly 2.5 billion dollar range and earlier design documents appeared to include things like executive dining areas, private elevators, and other features critics call luxury upgrades.

Powell has told Congress those items were largely removed and that the project is mainly about fixing serious safety, structural and security issues in an aging building.

Republicans and Trump allies argue the documents don’t fully match his testimony and have accused him of lying under oath, which is what triggered this referral to federal prosecutors.

At this stage, Powell has not been charged and the investigation may ultimately be closed without a case.

But the move is still significant.

It takes what started as a political attack over spending and turns it into a legal process inside the Justice Department.

That alone puts a cloud over Powell’s reputation and gives his opponents an easy talking point, the Fed chair is under federal investigation.

The bigger story is how this plays into the power struggle over the Fed and interest rate policy.

Trump has been furious that Powell has not cut rates as much or as fast as he wants and the White House has been looking for ways to pressure him or even force him out.

The renovation fight is a convenient vehicle, it makes Powell look out of touch and potentially dishonest, and it frames the Fed as spending billions on itself while ordinary people deal with high borrowing costs.

If the investigation drags on, it can weaken Powell’s political standing, make him more cautious, and raise questions about whether he can finish his term.

In an extreme scenario where prosecutors did bring charges, the pressure for him to resign would be intense, which could open the door for a more politically aligned replacement.

For markets, the dollars involved in the renovation are basically irrelevant but the uncertainty around Fed leadership is not.

Traders will mostly care about whether this makes a change in policy or personnel more likely.

If investors think this increases the odds that Powell gets replaced by someone more willing to slash rates, you could see lower yields and a friendlier backdrop for risk assets.

If it just looks like more political chaos around a key institution, it can add a bit of risk premium and volatility.

President Trump in first 10 days of 2026

1. Secured $18 trillion in oil reserves from Venezuela.
- This will lower inflation and boost GDP.

2. Ban on big institutions like Blackstone from buying single family homes.
- So normal families don’t have to compete with billion-dollar companies.

3. $200 billion to buy mortgage bonds.
- To push mortgage rates down, lowering monthly home payments.

4. Credit card rates capped at 10% for one year.
- This would cut monthly interest bills sharply, boosting spending.

5. $2,000 tariff stimulus checks confirmed.
- Using tariff money to send cash directly to people.

6. Pushing Fed to cut rates to 1%.
- Cheaper loans for homes, cars, and businesses to boost the economy.

7. Gas prices of $2 per gallon.
- Lower fuel costs reduce daily expenses and inflation pressure.

8. Bigger housing reforms coming.
- 50 year mortgage, more supply, lower construction costs, and cheaper homes.

Did you know back in 1836 President Jackson eliminated the 1st U.S. central bank called The Bank of the United States.

The people had given him a mandate to remove the artificial boom and bust cycles the bank was creating.
It resulted in the Panic of 1837
