The divergence between technical indicators like the MACD and index is widening, meaning we're seeing a dramatic slowdown in momentum.
Using history as a guide, the current situation looks similar to Jan 2025 and Dec 2025 (2), where markets saw a broadening topping pattern.
While it could be similar to Aug 2024, we won't really know for sure until we see increased momentum again.
For now, markets are likely to see increased volatility into September while going absolutely nowhere.
Problem is, the technical indicators say the complete opposite.
