🇪🇸 Sánchez vs. Netanyahu 🇮🇱

Israel is very nervous about Spain... Netanyahu accuses Sánchez at every opportunity of establishing relations with Iran.

💥 The underlying reason isn't that. It's about GEOPOLITICS.

There's an open struggle to see who will become Europe's ENERGY HUB 👇🏻

One from Africa and the other from Asia. A whole geopolitical struggle is underway, disguised as the Iranian issue.

The recent escalation of tensions between Israel and Spain has gone beyond traditional diplomacy. Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Pedro Sánchez of waging a "diplomatic war" against Israel.

Beyond the clashes related to the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, beneath the surface lies a geostrategic rivalry for Europe's energy leadership, with both countries vying to be the gateway to new supplies that would replace dependence on Russia.

This is where the battle of the energy gateways begins 👇🏻

Europe is in a desperate quest for energy diversification. On this chessboard, Spain and Israel represent two distinct geographical solutions:

🇪🇸 Spain is the crossroads of the Atlantic and the Western Mediterranean.

Its strength lies in its massive regasification infrastructure (the largest in the EU) and its privileged connection to Algerian gas via the Medgaz pipeline.

Spain not only aspires to be the hub for liquefied natural gas (LNG) arriving by ship from the Americas and Africa, but it is also leading the ambitious H2Med project, a green hydrogen corridor that would connect the peninsula to France and Germany by 2030.

🇮🇱 Israel, on the other hand, wants to be the gas powerhouse of the Levant.

In just 15 years, Israel has gone from energy importer to key exporter thanks to the mega offshore fields of Leviathan and Tamar.

Its major gamble is the EastMed project, a 1,900 km underwater gas pipeline designed to transport gas from its coasts to Europe (via Cyprus and Greece).

This project would transform the Eastern Mediterranean into a new energy hub for the continent and could leave Spain out of the game if it comes to fruition.

💥 But... What is the geopolitical dimension of the conflict?

Israel’s nervousness regarding Spain’s position is not merely ideological. If Spain consolidates its position as the main recipient of gas from Africa and a leader in hydrogen, the strategic importance of Israeli gas for Northern Europe would be diminished.

While Spain offers a stable route from the west, Israel promises an alternative from the east to break the monopoly previously held by Russia.

Spain has the advantage in the narrative of the energy of the future with renewable hydrogen, while Israel focuses on natural gas as a transitional energy source for the coming decades.

Netanyahu’s exclusion of Spain from oversight mechanisms aims to weaken the country’s political influence in the region, precisely at a time when Spain is attempting to lead EU energy policy.

Thus, the two countries are vying to be the indispensable component of Europe’s energy security.

Spain, by exploiting its geographical position between Africa and Europe, and Israel, by capitalizing on its newfound mineral wealth in Asia.

The current diplomatic clash reflects this silent struggle for control of the energy flows that will keep the European Union afloat.

This fits the ongoing logistics for Africa Corps forces in Mali, Libya, and elsewhere, where Moscow trades security support for access to gold, uranium, and other resources that help offset the costs of the war in Ukraine. Cargo contents aren’t publicly confirmed…
The African Corps' intervention is not a charitable mission;

Russian finance is an intermediary operation between the control of gold, diamond, uranium, and lithium mines. African gold smuggled out of the country directly helps Moscow evade international economic sanctions.

The Lobito Corridor:

The West’s Counter-Offensive on the New Route of Critical Minerals

If you open a map of Central Africa and draw a straight line from the rich mining regions of the DRC and Zambia to the Atlantic coast of Angola…

You will be drawing the axis around which the latest major battle of the technological Cold War is being waged.

For the past two decades, the narrative of infrastructure development on the African continent has had a single, clear protagonist: China.

Through its Belt and Road Initiative, Beijing has financed roads, railways, and ports with a very specific objective: to connect the copper and cobalt deposits of the African interior to Indian Ocean ports for direct shipment to its Asian factories.

However, in a geopolitical shift as quiet as it is strategic, the European Union and the United States have decided to break this logistical monopoly by reviving an old colonial-era infrastructure that promises to change the direction in which the continent's wealth flows.

This ambitious Western undertaking is known as the Lobito Corridor.

To understand the value of this initiative, one must first grasp the problem facing Western technology companies.

Elements like copper and cobalt are absolutely essential for manufacturing wind turbines, solar panels, and, above all, the batteries for electric vehicles required by new global environmental regulations.

The problem for Washington and Brussels is that China controls almost the entire supply chain, from the mines deep in the Congo to the final processing.

Until very recently, if a European company wanted to buy Congolese cobalt, the ore had to travel for weeks by truck on congested roads to East African ports like Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) or Durban (South Africa), both heavily influenced by Chinese trade.

This route was not only extremely slow and expensive, but it also left the Western energy transition at the mercy of Beijing’s political decisions.

The Lobito Corridor is the direct answer to this geopolitical bottleneck.

The heart of the project is a railway line of more than 1,300 kilometers that crosses Angola, passes through the mining areas of Zambia, and reaches the heart of the DRC.

The major geographical advantage of this corridor is that it looks directly towards the Atlantic Ocean.

By rehabilitating this railway and modernizing the port of Lobito, transport times for critical minerals are drastically reduced, from a journey of nearly a month by road to just a few days by train.

But the most significant benefit is not logistical, but purely strategic, as this route allows Africa’s mineral wealth to travel directly to ports in Europe and the United States, completely bypassing the roads and infrastructure controlled by China on the eastern side of the continent.

This importance explains why the Lobito Corridor became the first major project financed by the Global Infrastructure and Investment Partnership (GII), a G7 initiative created specifically to compete with Beijing’s money in the developing world.

The United States, the EU, and several international financial institutions have committed billions of dollars not only to repair the railway lines but also to build fiber optic digital connections, solar energy projects, and logistics hubs along the entire route.

The underlying political message is very powerful, as the West attempts to demonstrate to the governments of Angola, Zambia, and the Congo that they are no longer solely dependent on Chinese loans to develop their countries, and that an association with the Atlantic powers can provide them with high-quality infrastructure and direct access to the world’s wealthiest markets.

All eyes are on the Medgaz pipeline, which connects Algeria to Spain.

Given the current situation, it could become a critical target.

Algeria closed the Maghreb gas pipeline, which supplied Spain via Morocco, in 2021.

Morocco subsequently lost over €200 million per year.

But… could it become a Nord Stream 2.0? Is there a risk of sabotage? 👇🏽

In principle, the risk isn't the same, but you never know.

The possibility of an actor like Morocco, the United States, or Israel sabotaging Medgaz presents radically different geopolitical dynamics, incentives, and risks for each.

Following the Nord Stream debacle (where the official German investigation of 2026 pointed to state-sponsored intrigues linked to the war in Ukraine, and where the United States was criticized by the media for its commercial interests), Washington is once again in the crosshairs.

The United States has become one of the largest exporters of LNG to Europe. A Medgaz cutoff would force Spain and the European Union to purchase massive quantities of American LNG tankers at North American market prices.

Sabotaging Medgaz would mean intentionally attacking the economic stability of a direct NATO ally at a time of extreme global tension. Unlike Germany with Russian gas (where Washington sought to sever ties between Berlin and Moscow), the Algerian gas arriving in Spain does not finance an invasive power hostile to NATO, but stabilizes Europe's southern flank.

Israel is different. The relationship between Algeria and Israel is one of total hostility, particularly strained by the conflicts in the Middle East.

Furthermore, Israel has strengthened its ties with Morocco through defense agreements and the recent granting of gas exploration licenses in the Atlantic waters off the coast of Western Sahara.

A blow to Medgaz would deal a critical blow to the finances of Algeria (its geopolitical enemy), whose financial lifeblood is the state-owned company Sonatrach, and, at the same time, to Spain, which is in conflict with Israel over Palestine.

Of the three actors, Morocco maintains the most intense border rivalry with Algeria (fueled by a historical arms race in the Maghreb).

Its objective would be to deprive Algeria of its main source of revenue to Europe and to demonstrate the supposed "insecurity" of Algerian corridors.

A direct Moroccan physical attack in waters under strict surveillance by the Spanish Navy (which, in July 2026, again upgraded its radar and sensor systems on Alboran Island precisely to secure the maritime zone) would almost certainly be detected.

Morocco depends on the political goodwill of Spain and the EU to internationally validate its sovereignty over Western Sahara.

Confirmed sabotage would trigger EU sanctions that would cripple its economy.

If the Medgaz were to be sabotaged, the key would not be a visible missile or warship, but a false flag operation or hybrid warfare.

Obviously, none of these three actors would take responsibility. If it were to happen, the sabotage would be designed to look like an accident.

Another possibility would be that a state actor would finance or provide intelligence to insurgent groups to attack the infrastructure on Algerian soil, completely diverting international attention away from the Mediterranean powers.

Therefore, Medgaz is protected by the fact that its final destination is a core NATO country.

Sabotaging it would not only be an attack on Algeria; it would directly strike at the energy supply and national security of Western Europe.

Consequently, while the economic benefit for the United States or the geopolitical coup for Morocco and Israel may exist on paper, the cost of triggering a European security response would significantly penalize all three actors if it were discovered.

🤑 The Federal Reserve's balance sheet decreased by $9,188,000,000 in one week.

▪️Market expectations (Federal Reserve rate):
- September 16: Increase of 25 basis points to 3.75-4.00%.
- October 28: PAUSE.

▪️Hamlil, Federal Reserve Chairman:
- I don't think inflation will continue to fall without further action from the Federal Reserve.
- The current monetary policy remains too loose to bring inflation back to the target.

▪️Kashkari, Federal Reserve Chairman:
- The investment boom in data centers has become an additional source of demand and is exacerbating inflationary pressures.
- The Federal Reserve may not react to individual supply shocks, but a series of them can solidify high inflation. In that case, monetary policy should respond.
- I would prefer to tighten policy gradually, in small steps. If inflation begins to fall steadily, the Federal Reserve can slow down or stop without causing excessive damage to the economy.

▪️Logan, Federal Reserve Chairman:
- Inflation risks are shifting towards further increases, and the strong labor market is becoming even stronger.
- I would prefer to raise the rate by 25 basis points to better balance economic prospects and risks. A small rate hike in the near future would reduce the likelihood of more drastic measures in the future.

As a reminder, Hamlil, Kashkari, and Logan voted to raise the Federal Reserve rate at the last meeting.

🇺🇸 GAME CHANGER: The U.S. Navy Wants to Turn Its Submarines Into Hidden Aircraft Killers

For decades, submarines ruled beneath the waves. Now, the U.S. Navy is working to give them the ability to strike from below... into the sky.

A new submarine launched anti air missile concept would allow stealth submarines to engage enemy helicopters, drones, and aircraft, adding a completely new dimension to naval warfare.

If fielded, this capability could shatter long held assumptions about air superiority at sea, making every aircraft over contested waters think twice.

The oceans are about to become even more dangerous.

“Prices must come downChinese car brands are flooding Europe like a tidal wave

Chinese car manufacturers continue to flood the European market, and several analysts are now warning that Europe is facing a historic transformation.

Acording to some estimates, Chinese brands could take up to a third of all car sales in Europe, a market entry that is happening faster than anyone predicted.

The pressure is so intense that European manufacturers are saying it bluntly
Prices must come down.”
Otherwise, they risk being outcompeted by Chinese electric cars that combine lower prices, fast production and an aggressive export strategy.

Europe is thus facing a car war in which Chinese brands are already miles ahead – and in which European giants are forced to play defensively

❗️The USA can enter Ukraine at any moment and take (!) almost everything they want — Trump on the agreement signed with Ukraine regarding rare earth resources.

According to him, the value of access to the resources may exceed $300 billion.
Kevin Warsh is reportedly cancelling the press conference for the next Federal Reserve meeting on September 17th.

This is interesting because September is historically a volatile month due to liquidity drain from taxes.

Not speaking basically leaves the bond market rudderless at a terrible time.
