Make it very damn clear Marco Rubio is completely in on this invasion of Ceuta.

US Congressional report in April for the first time labels it โ€œoccupied Moroccon territoryโ€ and โ€œsupports Secretary of State Marco Rubioโ€™s efforts on the status of Ceutaโ€

This is to punish Spain

We do not recognize that part as Spanish waters, it canโ€™t be Spanish for the mere existence of a minuscule colonial enclave.

WATCH: Russia has been conducting a massive airlift of mercenaries and equipment to Africa through Syria in recent days between the 28th and 31st as it tries to strengthen its grip on the continent for vital resources and income it needs for its war in Ukraine.
This fits the ongoing logistics for Africa Corps forces in Mali, Libya, and elsewhere, where Moscow trades security support for access to gold, uranium, and other resources that help offset the costs of the war in Ukraine. Cargo contents arenโ€™t publicly confirmed, but the flight tempo and routes are consistent with the accelerated airlift activity reported over the past few days.

โšก๏ธ US and Israel Discuss Potential Land Blockade of Iran

The Telegraph reports that Washington and Jerusalem are considering cutting off Iran's land-based trade routes.

According to Reuters, Trump and Netanyahu also discussed continuing the blockade, economic pressure, and the possibility of a large-scale strike.

Current Updates:

โžฅ Iran claims to have attacked US facilities in Kuwait. Drones allegedly struck hangars, satellite communication equipment, and warehouses at the Ahmad al-Jaber airbase. The US has not yet confirmed the reports. Tehran says this is in response to an attack on the island of Qeshm, where, according to Iranian media, a family with a two-year-old child was killed.

โžฅ Trump announces a "historic" agreement on Gaza. According to his version, Hamas has agreed to complete disarmament, and Israel has agreed to a phased withdrawal of troops. However, the parties are already arguing: Hamas demands that the Israeli army be withdrawn first, while Israel demands that weapons be surrendered first. In other words, the high-profile announcement has not yet become a working agreement.

โžฅ Israel blew up a network of Hezbollah tunnels in southern Lebanon overnight. Explosions were felt throughout the south of the country. Windows were shattered in nearby settlements. The IDF stated that it destroyed key sections of the underground complex near the Beaufort Fortress.

โžฅ The Strait of Hormuz remains almost paralyzed. Only two tankers passed through it on Thursday, and both were without cargo. Intermediaries claim that negotiations between the US and Iran are continuing, but there are no signs of real de-escalation.

Everyone is watching Japan's interest rate decision. The real move was made yesterday.

Nikkei published a news item yesterday.

Japan intervened in the foreign exchange market, selling dollars and buying yen.

The same news item contained a second piece of information: the New York Fed conducted a rate check.

The entire weight of the news lies in those two words.

Rate check means:

The Fed contacts major banks and asks for the current buying and selling prices for the dollar-yen exchange rate.

It seems like a routine question. But this question is only asked in one situation in the market:

Just before intervention.

That's why rate checks are rarely done. The moment it happens, the market reads:

A decision has been made, intervention is coming.

So who made this decision?

In the US, the Fed doesn't decide on foreign exchange interventions. The decision comes from the Treasury Department.

Nikkei also wrote that the instruction came from there.

So, the person who pressed the button for the yen yesterday was Scott Bessent.

Bessent is the man who knows better than anyone what happens when a central bank defends its exchange rate.

Let's go back to 1992.

Bessent was 30 years old that year, working for George Soros's London team.

At that time, Britain had to prevent the pound from falling below a certain level. The European exchange rate agreement mandated this.

Soros's team saw that this level couldn't be maintained and bet on the pound falling.

Britain resisted. They spent their reserves and collected pounds from the market, raising interest rates twice in the same day.

That wasn't enough.

In the evening, they gave in, and the pound lost 15% of its value in a single day.

That day went down in history as Black Wednesday. Soros's fund earned nearly $1 billion from that transaction.

Bessent stood on the winning side, watching how a central bank was defeated.

Today, that same man is the US Treasury Secretary, and he has direct authority over currency intervention.
