๐จ US MEMORY STOCKS ARE CRASHING
$1 Trillion has been wiped out from US stocks in the last 3 hours, and 50% of that came from just 6 memory stocks.
US memory stocks are crashing on news that China has begun producing its own DUV chipmaking machines.
Investors worry China can now build more chip factories on its own, adding supply and pushing memory chip prices down, exactly the prices that have been driving these stocks higher all year.
- Nvidia: -4.37%, $300B wiped out
- SK Hynix: -9.48%, $95B wiped out
- Micron: -4.69%, $82B wiped out
- SanDisk: -10.42%, $26B wiped out
- Western Digital: -5.93%, $21B wiped out
- Seagate: -5.59%, $17B wiped out
In total, $541 billion has been wiped out from just these 6 memory stocks.

NVIDIA MIGHT BE USING A FUNDING LOOP THAT PAYS FOR ITS OWN CHIP SALES
Nvidia just unveiled a new round of AI deals worth more than $750 billion combined.
The largest single deal: a $500 billion+ partnership with SK Hynix's parent company to build over 2 gigawatts of AI data centers in Korea, enough power for 1.5 million homes.
Nvidia is also in talks to guarantee up to $250 billion of OpenAI's lease payments on a massive data center project in Ohio, and to directly finance another $350 billion of OpenAI's chip purchases from Nvidia itself.
Here's how it becomes the loop:
Nvidia sells the chips. Then Nvidia helps finance the same companies buying those chips. The company profits either way, whether or not AI demand actually shows up.
This matters directly for Nvidia's own earnings. Every chip sale gets booked immediately as revenue the moment it's sold, even when Nvidia itself is the one funding the buyer's purchase.
That means Nvidia's revenue and profit numbers can look strong quarter after quarter, without the market ever knowing how much of that demand Nvidia had to pay for itself.
Nvidia isn't alone in this.
Google agreed to backstop lease payments for Anthropic at five data centers, functioning as a $35 billion loan. SoftBank has already committed nearly $65 billion into OpenAI and taken out a $40 billion bridge loan just to fund that one investment.
Jensen Huang has pushed back directly, calling the "circular" label "ridiculous," and noting these deals are still a small share of what these companies ultimately raise elsewhere.
If AI demand ever falls short, the chipmaker, the buyer, and the lender all lose money at the same time, because they're all standing on the same foundation.
Michael Burry raised a similar alarm recently about a separate Nvidia deal tied to Elon Musk's xAI, alleging billions in chips are hidden off balance sheets, with American retirees unknowingly funding the risk through insurance products.

๐ณ Chinese companies are releasing another "killer" of Nvidia...
Panic is spreading, with comparisons being made to the shock caused by the launch of DeepSeek: in January 2025, a Chinese model offered top-tier performance at a fraction of the cost, causing Nvidia to lose nearly $600 billion in market capitalization in a single day. Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market declined following the tech sector. For the first time, investors are questioning whether cutting-edge AI necessarily has to be extremely expensive and American-made.
Today, history is repeating itself: Moonshot AI has releaseda full weight and technical report on Kimi K3 โ an AI model with 2.8 trillion parameters and a context window of 1 million tokens. Kimi K3 can now be independently verified, downloaded, and run on your own infrastructure.
Key features of Kimi K3:
โฅ On the Arena.ai Frontend Code benchmark, it ranked first, surpassing Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol.
โฅ It delivers performance comparable to top-tier closed models in long-form tasks and coding.
โฅ Fully open weights โ you can download, run, and modify it for free.
โฅ The API cost is significantly lower than that of American flagships.
The market has already reacted to the launch of the new AI model, with widespread sell-offs in the US technology sector. Nvidia is down 5%.
Bitcoin is correlated with the AI and chip sectors โ any doubts about the endless demand for expensive GPUs also impact the cryptocurrency market. If open Chinese models continue to catch up (or surpass) closed American neural networks at a lower cost and with lower hardware requirements, the argument "we need more data centers and Nvidia" will begin to fall apart. Not only chipmakers, but also miners who are actively redirecting their resources towards AI, will be at risk.

Kimi K3 is one of the best models you can run in your Hermes agent.
It's literally perfect for agent workflows (90% token discount).
It even beats (or matches) Fable 5 AND GPT-5.6 Sol on several benchmarks while being cheaper.
Pairing these two is the best cost-to-performance setup you can run:
Why Kimi K3
โ Native vision
โ 1M token context.
โ On several benchmarks (FrontierSWE, MCPMark, Harvey Lab-AA), it's actually beating Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol
Pricing
API pricing: $3/$15 per million tokens (roughly Claude Sonnet territory and about half the output cost of GPT-5.6 Sol).
Cached input drops to $0.30/million, a 90% discount, which matters a lot for agent workflows that reuse the same system prompt and context on every call.
Pairing with Hermes
Hermes already connects to 300+ models through OpenRouter.
I recommend setting Kimi K3 as your default instead of paying Frontier prices for every task.
Inside Hermes, point your model provider to moonshotai/kimi-k3 via OpenRouter, or connect directly through Moonshot's OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible API at platform.kimi.ai.
You can even send a simple prompt like "help me set up Kimi K3" and your agent will guide you through the entire process.
The TL;DR is that you get near-frontier reasoning and agentic performance at Sonnet-tier pricing.

๐จ๐บ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ท The Caspian may have just become the next strategic front.
Ukraine says it struck vessels in the Caspian Sea carrying military cargo between Iran and Russia.
Iran has confirmed one of its ships was hit with casualties, and President Zelensky has publicly claimed the operation.
This matters because the Caspian has become a key corridor for military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, moving drones, components and other supplies beyond the reach of the Black Sea.
If these strikes become a sustained campaign, the implications extend far beyond the battlefield.
They could disrupt one of the few remaining secure logistics routes linking Russia and Iran, adding another layer of risk to regional trade, energy infrastructure and shipping.
The key question now is whether this was a one-off operation or the beginning of a broader effort to pressure Russia and Iran's logistics network.
If it is the latter, the geographical boundaries of the conflict may be expanding once again.

the real message is:
