πŸš¨πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ίβš°οΈ RUSSIA HAS SUFFERED AN ESTIMATED 1.4 MILLION CASUALTIES SINCE THE START OF THE FULL-SCALE WAR. New analysis highlights the staggering human cost of Moscow's invasion while revealing how drones have completely transformed the battlefield.

According to estimates by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the war has resulted in around 2 million soldiers killed, wounded, or missing on both sides since 2022, with approximately 1.4 million of those losses attributed to Russian forces.

Meanwhile, Reuters has published an infographic illustrating a 30-kilometer-wide "kill zone" stretching along Ukraine's 1,200-kilometer front line. In this deadly belt, drones dominate the battlefield, constantly searching for and striking any detected movement.

Large-scale troop formations have largely disappeared. Soldiers now operate in small teams of two or three, often spending months in concealed positions and moving primarily on foot or by motorcycle to reduce the risk of drone detection.

FPV attack drones and bomber drones now destroy vehicles, infantry, and even other drones, making unmanned systems, rather than artillery or small arms, the leading cause of battlefield losses. Tank assaults and extensive trench systems have become increasingly vulnerable, while skilled drone operators have emerged as some of the highest-value targets for both armies.

The war in Ukraine is rapidly redefining modern warfare, proving that control of the skies at the tactical level through inexpensive drones can outweigh many of the advantages once provided by traditional armored formations.

The shadow of death looms over Iran.

Judging by their speed and the scale of the deployment, it appears that this could be one of the most critical moments for Iran.

Japan made this choice in 1985.

That year, it accepted the appreciation of its currency and lost its export power.

To compensate for the lost growth, it kept the economy afloat for decades with public spending.

The debt we are discussing today accumulated from that.

1985 didn't just take away Japan's production power; it also created its current debt.

Japan's debt is approximately 2.5 times everything it produces in a year. In the US, this ratio is 1.2 times.

There was only one condition for it to be able to carry this debt:

Interest rates had to remain zero.

And that's where the real issue begins.

Zero interest rates made Japan the cheapest source of money in the world.

Funds borrowed from there almost for free and moved that money to a high-yielding market.

The biggest destination became the US.

In other words, the US stopped a competitor in 1985 and subsequently lived off its money.

That's the power of the established system.

The US doesn't need to exert pressure today. If Japan raises interest rates, its budget suffers; if it doesn't, its currency erodes.

Both doors are locked from the inside.

But something is changing.

Japanese money is slowly returning home. Japan is buying bonds domestically, not renewing its foreign bonds as it used to.

In other words, that money is no longer flowing in the same direction.

Moreover, the US is in one of the most intense debt renewal periods in its history, and its largest foreign creditor is not sitting at the table as before.

One of the things that kept the US's cheap borrowing afloat was Japanese money flowing out because it couldn't find yield in its own country.

That era is ending.

Friendly Reminder: As of July 24th, paper gold trading for retail investors is now banned in China.

The last time China did something similar was late 2020.

To prioritize institutional players and limit retail exposure, Chinese banks stopped opening new paper gold and silver trading accounts for individual investors.

This was triggered by the "Crude Oil Treasury" scandal where retail investors suffered severe losses on oil linked products from the oil collapsing to -$40.

In 2020, Chinese banks stopped allowing new retail accounts to be opened for leveraged and deferred precious metal contracts.

"One analyst estimated the actual physical gold to back those (paper) claims... was 1 to 9."

To understand what's going on with China banning paper gold for retail, it's worth going back to this older video.

My sneaking suspicion is China has prepared to host their own precious metals market, the same way the US and UK have one. This entices foreign gold to flow to China because the price (in theory) should reflect actual demand, instead of a paper suppressed price.

This also serves the purpose of isolating the Chinese financial system from any potential volatility in metals pricing that could come if the derivatives market implodes.

You know what this "ceasefire" is about right...

Under the War Powers Resolution, a president can engage US forces in hostilities for 60 days + a 30-day withdrawal period, without formal congressional approval.

A pause resets the clock, while moving ground forces into position.
