Ukraine showcased Liutyi with four missiles at Farnborough — a radical shift in capability. 🔥 What Liutyi used to be • Fixed‑wing long‑range drone • 250–300 kg • 50–75 kg warhead • Range: 1000–1700 km • Used as a one‑way strike drone • Responsible for 80%…
Putin is losing his second campaign in the war — and this time the excuses don’t work. The failed blitzkrieg of 2022 was a major setback, but Moscow still believed its manpower and money would guarantee victory in a long war of attrition. Four years later, that logic has collapsed.
Russia entered the war convinced that mass + money = victory. But warfare changed while the Kremlin kept fighting yesterday’s war.

🔥 What Moscow underestimated:

Technologies like drones, AI systems and precision weapons reshaped the battlefield.
Resource superiority turned into a trap — it allowed Russia to keep a failing strategy alive.

Costs now rise faster than gains as the army pushes toward Donetsk.
New capabilities were treated as “supplements” — until they became decisive.

Putin tried to win a 2026 war with 2000‑era thinking. Ukraine and its partners reinvented the battlefield — and Russia noticed only when the losses became impossible to hide.

Russia is trying hard to hide it — but this was a disastrous week for the Kremlin. Fires, explosions, downed aircraft, sinking ships. All on their side of the map.

🔥 Fires and strikes across Russia:
Wild‑berry warehouses burning (even the berries are escaping)

Oil depots near Moscow hit
Ulyanovsk refinery struck

Antipinsky refinery in Tyumen on fire

And that was just the warm‑up.

✈️ The Russian Air Force had its own meltdown:

Tu‑95 strategic bomber destroyed by SBU at Engels‑2

Su‑57 shot down by Russian air defence near Moscow
MiG‑29 possibly downed by a Ukrainian F‑16

Russia’s Air Force is now its own worst enemy.

⚓ The shadow fleet? Sinking fast:

At least 34 shadow‑fleet vessels hit in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov

Azov Sea traffic down 83% in two weeks
Russia pretends everything is fine. The numbers say otherwise: A week the Kremlin would love to delete.

Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia could tighten global oil markets — because of course they could. Iran‑backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for strikes on Aramco facilities in Yanbu and Jazan, using ballistic missiles and drones. The Middle East never misses a chance to remind traders that weekends are optional.
Yanbu is Saudi Arabia’s key oil port, bypassing Iran’s chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz. Damage remains unclear, but the site can refine 400,000 barrels per day — enough to make markets sweat.

🔥 Why it matters:

Hormuz is already shut → supply pressure rising
Houthi escalation adds another layer of uncertainty

Saudi–Iran–Yemen dynamics = geopolitical headache
Albukhaiti warns: US retaliation → Houthi embargo on US ships

Matthiesen notes no one wants escalation. History notes escalation often happens anyway.

‼️Korea's leveraged ETF mania is unwinding as if there is a Financial Crisis:

Assets under management (AUM) across Korea's leveraged ETF complex have HALVED over the last month, to ~$26.5 billion.

Leveraged exposure relative to Korea's free-float market cap peaked at 3.3% around the same time, and is now down to 2.1%.

Leveraged ETFs must buy and sell stocks every day to maintain their target leverage, meaning large rebalancing trades can amplify market swings.

This comes as daily rebalancing flows in Samsung are down to 15% of its 1-month average daily trading volume, from 40% at the peak.

In SK Hynix, the same measure is down to 14%, from 26%.

Samsung and SK Hynix together account for over 50% of KOSPI's total market cap, so the leveraged ETF unwind has significantly reduced one of the market's largest sources of mechanical buying.

The same leverage that amplified Samsung and SK Hynix's rally is now accelerating the market decline.

Saudi Arabia is preparing to finish off the Houthis. Reinforcements of coalition forces are heading towards Marib, Al-Jawf, and near Hodeida and Sanaa to confront the Houthis.
Iran Update, 25 July 2026: A week where every actor pushed harder — and nobody kept control. The Saudi‑led coalition struck Houthi targets across Yemen to weaken their ability to threaten Red Sea shipping and Saudi infrastructure. The Houthis responded immediately with attacks on Saudi vessels and oil ports, tightening the blockade’s economic pressure.

🔥 US night strikes — paused for the first time in 13 days
Iranian officials say the US has not conducted strikes since 24 July. Trump reportedly ordered new strikes hours after an Omani delegation arrived in Tehran to discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz — diplomacy and escalation in the same afternoon.

🚀 Iran’s missiles: advanced Kheybar Shekan variants
US officials told the Wall Street Journal that Iran fired advanced MRBM variants that in several cases evaded US defenses. Not a sentence Washington likes to say out loud.

🌍 Strategic picture:

Saudi coalition hitting Houthi targets → trying to regain initiative
Houthis striking ships and oil ports → raising Saudi costs
US pausing strikes → tactical reset or diplomatic window

Iran firing advanced missiles → demonstrating evolving capabilities
Everyone claims control. Nobody actually has it.

🚨🇮🇶Iraq is signing a pipeline agreement with Syria to move oil to the Mediterranean, bypassing the Gulf chokepoints entirely.

This is the Mediterranean route flagged in the Trump Iraq deals post a couple weeks ago, now with an actual counterparty. Basra Oil Co. is authorized to sign the MOU with Syria's oil ministry.

Same day, Iraq also cleared ConocoPhillips, alongside TI Capital and Novaterra, to begin assessing the Akkas field. That is ConocoPhillips's 2nd Iraq deal this month, after the Kirkuk stake.

The bypass buildout and the US energy push into Iraq are now the same story.
When the ammo runs low, you can’t keep firing — and Washington is feeling that reality. Iran saw another night without US airstrikes. After nearly two weeks of nightly bombing runs, the US suddenly hit pause in a war now entering its fifth month.
🔥 Why the pause?
US media report concerns over shrinking stocks of Patriot interceptors and other defensive weapons. Hard to escalate when your magazines look like post‑sale shelves at Walmart.

🔥 Diplomacy + threats = Washington’s default setting
An Omani delegation arrived in Tehran to discuss reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Hours later, Trump reportedly ordered new strikes — then held back. Negotiation and escalation in the same afternoon.
Trump says he’s ready for a “much higher level” of attacks if Iran doesn’t give the US what it wants. The war he once said would last “four or five weeks” is now in month five — and weighing on Republican approval ahead of midterms.

🔥 Pentagon slows down, CENTCOM keeps going
Pentagon proposed a 14th night of strikes — Trump declined. Meanwhile CENTCOM continues the naval blockade:
12 ships redirected
2 disabled

2 boarded
Tankers stopped in Oman Bay and the Arabian Sea

Airstrikes paused. Blockade unchanged.
🌍 Strategic picture:
US pauses airstrikes → ammo pressure + political risk

Iran continues resistance → missiles, regional attacks

Hormuz remains closed → global energy tension

Diplomacy and threats coexist → classic Washington choreography

Everyone claims control. Nobody actually has it.

Building an AI trading bot has literally never been easier.

Anyone with a laptop + WiFi and 10 minutes of free time can completely automate their trading with AI.

The full process (you'll want to save this):

Step 1. Understand the architecture

Whether you're trading stocks or crypto, every trading bot is built from the same two parts:
→ The brain: strategizes your trading. An LLM like Claude or Codex is best for this.
→ The hands: execute your trades. This happens through an MCP connection.

Step 2. Pick your MCP (stocks)

For stocks, one of my favorite MCPs is the Alpaca connector.

It's completely free and has paper trading built in, so you can test everything with fake money before risking real capital.

Step 3. Connect Alpaca (3 sub-steps)

→ Sign up for an Alpaca account
→ Grab your API key
→ Plug the API key into Claude

That's it. Your brain and your hands are now connected.

Step 4. Pick your MCP (crypto)

Same exact process, different exchange.

Go to your exchange (Blofin, Binance, Bybit, etc), grab your API key from your account settings.

Step 5. Connect your exchange

Plug the API key into Claude with a prompt like:

"I want to automate my trading with the Blofin MCP, connect my API key [insert key], and build a dashboard to manage my trading."

Once connected, your AI can read your positions, place trades, and manage everything from one interface.

Step 6. Dashboard build

From here, you can build a fully customizable dashboard trading terminal to manage your trading.

Pro tip: connect other MCPs to get live price data.

Such a simple setup and easy way to start automating your trading.

‼️The US Dollar share in global FX reserves is falling:

The US Dollar weighting in global reserves has declined -15 percentage points since 2015, to ~42%, near the lowest this century.

The greenback proportion has been below 50% for the last 3 years now.

At the same time, gold's share surged to ~26%, near the highest since the 1990s.

By comparison, the euro accounts for ~15% of global reserves.

The Eastern world is quietly diversifying from the US Dollar.
