Dario Amodei just described a future where revolution becomes physically impossible.

Amodei: “You’re supposed to follow orders, but if something crazy enough happened, the soldiers would say, I’m not gonna do that.”

Every check on power in human history came down to one thing.

The people holding the weapons could refuse to use them.

That refusal is not a flaw in the system. It IS the system.

The entire architecture of human freedom is built on a single biological fact… that soldiers have a conscience.

Amodei: “What if you have an army of 10 million drones instead of 10 million human soldiers?”

Remove the conscience and every structure built on top of it collapses.

No refusal. No mutiny. No revolution. No ceiling on power.

Not temporarily. Permanently.

And every institution on earth understands this. Which is why the response hasn’t been to prevent autonomous weapons.

It’s been to control who gets to build the intelligence behind them.

That’s what model bans are. That’s what export controls are. Not safety policy. Power consolidation disguised as caution.

And the result is the opposite of what they intended.

Every restriction slows the people playing by the rules while adversaries who answer to nobody sprint ahead unchecked.

The harder Washington squeezes, the wider the gap grows between what America builds and what its competitors deploy without a single committee meeting.

Which creates an irony so brutal it’s almost poetic.

The more aggressively governments try to lock down frontier AI, the stronger the incentive for labs to simply stop asking permission and drop their most powerful models open source before the regulatory window closes forever.

And once those weights are open, no executive order on earth can pull them back.

Amodei: “I think if we handle this wrongly, you could have a situation where there’s a very small number of people, or one person, who has their hand on the button and controls those 10 million drones.”

The institutions telling you AI must be centralized “for your protection” are constructing the exact infrastructure he’s warning about.

Restricted access. Consolidated control. One hand on the button.

They’re not preventing the nightmare. They’re building it and writing their name on the door.

Amodei: “We don’t want to make companies more powerful than the government, but we also don’t want to make government so powerful that it can’t be stopped.”

Nobody in power ever quotes the second half of that sentence.

But here’s what every institution scrambling to lock this down keeps missing.

They’re running the nuclear playbook on a technology that breaks every rule nuclear followed.

Nuclear required nation-state resources. This fits on a hard drive.

Nuclear had a supply chain you could choke. This one multiplies the moment you squeeze.

Open weights are already out. The barrier to entry is collapsing.

And every attempt to centralize this technology accelerates the exact decentralization they’re trying to prevent.

The question was never whether this power would exist.

It was whether you’d need permission to use it.

For the first time in history, you don’t

For those playing at home.. Russia's largest logistics hubs, owned by the following companies. Wildberries (WB) Ozon Russian Post (Почта России / Russian Post) CDEK (СДЭК) Yandex Market (Яндекс Маркет) X5 Group Magnit Lemana PRO (formerly Leroy Merlin Russia)…
Photo of the day from Russia

The attacks on Wildberries warehouses appear far more serious than they might initially appear.

Wildberries in Russia has long ceased to be a simple marketplace. The company's aggressive and successful development has led it to a stage where it has become a significant part of the country's everyday economic infrastructure. This includes hundreds of thousands of sellers, pickup point owners, logisticians, and other dependents. For many of them, Wildberries is their primary source of income.

Enormous amounts of money from small and medium-sized businesses accumulate within the confines of this empire. And besides the money, often almost the entire infrastructure. Imagine the horror of losing inventory, logistics, and the ability to operate normally in a single blow. No one will be able to cover these losses. And when I talk about scale, I'm talking about over a million sellers, the majority of whom are small and medium-sized businesses.

Most importantly, such attacks create tension in the sector that is the most difficult for the state to control. Oil, banking, and defense have long been effectively controlled, but dealing with thousands of sellers, employees, and customers is much more difficult.

Yes, these aren't blows to the core of the Russian economy. But they are significant enough that many Russians will feel their impact. And not just on television, but in their own pockets.

Such an operation won't change the course of the war. But it does increase tension in Russian society, which is a favorable backdrop for Ukraine.

Life starts to feel a lot better when you realize that not everything is a zero sum game

For you to win, it is not required that someone else must lose

And the people who tend to end up the wealthiest are amazing at creating win-win situations for everyone around them

The key is to surround yourself with as many of these people as possible, and win alongside with them over long periods of time

Anthropic employees realizing what the K3 model release means for their equity stake
They’re all multi-millionaires at this point anyway - I’d hope they find ways to cope 😂

Me and the boys at the bar while a Chinese AI we can't even pronounce prints $961,666 on #Bitcoin overnight for exactly zero dollars a month
Moonshot just dropped Kimi K3. Open weights.

2.8 trillion parameters. 1 million tokens of context. 6.3x faster decoding on million-token runs.

Most people read that as a spec sheet. It's a permission slip.

Long-horizon agents + self-evolving workflows + a context window that holds your whole project - that's the secret. The loop stops forgetting what it did yesterday.

9 out of 10 builders still run agents that lose the plot after twenty minutes. This is the fix, and it costs nothing.

Quant from Jane Street ran it as one loop overnight.

The cracks in Russia's economic alliances are widening into canyons. Kazakhstan has officially banned all imports of Russian wheat, delivering a massive economic blow to the Kremlin from within its own trade bloc.

The strategic consequences of Astana's decision:

The Death of EAEU Unity: Both nations belong to the Eurasian Economic Union, designed to ensure the free flow of goods. Kazakhstan breaking the rules to blockade Russian grain proves the bloc is functionally fractured under the weight of regional instability.

Choking the Transit Route: Russia is facing a massive grain surplus and desperately needs Kazakhstan’s rail infrastructure to smuggle and export wheat to Central Asia, Iran, and China. This ban effectively bottlenecks Russia’s agricultural escape route to the East.

Economic Self-Preservation: Moscow’s heavily discounted, sanctioned wheat was cannibalizing Kazakhstan's domestic market. Astana chose to protect its own economy rather than bail out Putin's war-torn finances.

First Beijing freezes the gas pipelines, now Central Asian allies block the grain corridors. Russia is learning the hard way that a vulnerable, isolated petro-state has no real friends—only neighbors protecting their own interests.

Mobile-optimized for fast scrollingRussia is draining fuel from its own regions to artificially keep Moscow alive.
Ukraine's deep-strike campaign has broken the spine of Russia's refining infrastructure.
The brutal breakdown of Putin's war economy:📉 24-Year Low: July refining runs plummeted to 3.5 million barrels/day—a collapse not seen since 2002 and 30% down YoY.
🛑 Regional Rationing: Up to 50% of gas stations are completely dry in regions like Crimea and Yakutia. Citizens face QR-code limits and odd/even day rationing.💸
The Deficit: Domestic output covers only ~2/3 of demand, leaving a monthly black hole of 400,000–600,000 tons of fuel.
🏰 The Moscow Shield: Through aggressive "manual control," the Kremlin routes every available drop to the capital first—keeping 85% of Moscow stations open while provincial Russia waits in lines.Russia has the crude, but it no longer has the gasoline. The home front is fracturing under logistical starvation. 🇷🇺⛽️💥 #RussiaFuelCrisis #RefineryStrikes #WarEconomy #MoscowShortage #Geopolitics
