Global refinery runs have fallen 7 million barrels a day to multi year lows.

86.8 down to 79.3, in a matter of months.

The Middle East and Russia together hold 18% of global refining capacity.

Russia alone has 6.7 million barrels a day of capacity and is currently running only about 4.

This is not a regional story.

It is a 7 million barrel a day hole in the global system, concentrated in exactly the 2 regions under attack.

US crude and gasoline stocks just fell below the bottom of their 5 year range.

US refineries are running near 17 million bpd, above the 5-year average, right at peak summer demand.

Production is at an all time high anyway.

Week ending 7/10/2026:

Crude: -1.7M bbl, now near 410M bbl, at the floor of the 5-year range

Gasoline: -1.5M bbl, also scraping the low end of the range

Distillate: +4.6M bbl, Cushing: +0.4M bbl, both climbing back toward normal

🚨Refinery runs: +99 thousand bpd, crude production: +1 thousand bpd, near 13.9 million bpd, an all time high

Crude and gasoline are scraping historical lows.

Production keeps climbing anyway.

That's the tension in this market right now.
EU gas storage⚠️

76.5% in 2024
57.8% in 2025
48.3% in 2026

all measured on the same June date.

That is 3 straight years of going into Q3 with less cushion than the year before.

Meanwhile the US now supplies 61% of all LNG imports into Europe year to date, against 15% for Russia and 6% for Nigeria.

Europe is entering the tightest summer more dependent on 1 supplier than ever.
China just gave its miners a 9 billion dollar war chest.

Guangyan International, state backed, mandated to co invest alongside Chinese miners abroad.

Notice what it is not buying.
Rare earths.

China already controls 60 to 70% of rare earth mining and 85 to 90% of refining.

It has no need to buy more of that.

It is buying what it is actually short of.

Copper, gold, iron ore.

Over 100 billion dollars in overseas mining commitments since 2023.

The next bidding war is not for rare earths. It is for the last independent copper and gold mines in Latin America, Africa, and Central Asia.

There are long gas lines in Russia right now because so many refineries have been destroyed. Currently they're importing as much fuel as possible from India. If the Red Sea is closed, that cuts off Russia from India's fuel production along with Europe.
The IRGC just said the US should expect closure of other oil&gas routes in the coming days.

Not just Hormuz.

That is a direct threat to the bypass infrastructure everyone has been building, the pipelines through Iraq and Turkey, the new UAE ports.

Meanwhile #CENTCOM confirms the Hormuz blockade already has teeth.

2 commercial vessels were redirected attempting to run it in the first 17 hours alone.

The bypass routes only work if they stay open.
Iran just said they might not.

POV: You use your last wish to ask the genie to become a famous person that everyone will remember from an important event
NASDAQ 100 is down -0.66% after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh raised doubts about AI spending.

Memory and AI stocks are crashing the most on his statement:

$SNDK down 12.5%
$WDC down 7.5%
$MU down 7%
$SKHV down 10%
$INTC down 5%.

Warsh said the AI infrastructure buildout has been impressive, but flagged early signs of overcapacity, specifically in memory chips and related components.

His concern is that investment is outrunning actual monetization, and he cautioned against assuming every AI project will deliver the returns already priced into the market.

President Trump says New York is making a "terrible decision" by blocking data centers.

Trump says AI data centers are "money machines" that create jobs and generate massive tax revenue.

He claims companies are now moving to states like Texas, Florida, Arizona, and Alabama instead.

Trump also warned the US cannot afford to lose AI infrastructure and data centers to China and other countries.
President Trump is expected to meet with U.S. senators on Thursday to negotiate the Clarity Act's ethics rules.

The talks will focus on a provision that could restrict senior government officials, including Trump, from having personal crypto business interests.

Democrats have pushed for the measure after Trump disclosed earning over $1 billion from crypto-related businesses in 2025.

Trump has urged Congress to pass the Clarity Act but has not said whether he would sign a version that limits his own crypto business ties.

⚑ Kevin Warsh (Chairman of #FederalReserve):

βœ” I believe that any new leader should bring in the best specialists they can find.
βœ” Any central bank is pleased when macroeconomic data moves in the right direction.
βœ” In my opinion, the latest inflation data is imperfect and does not reflect the full picture.
βœ” In the near term, I believe that investments in AI will contribute to the creation of new jobs.
βœ” In the long term, I believe that AI will help to increase wages and employment.
βœ” However, during transition periods, AI can lead to significant changes and disruptions.
βœ” I have requested access to a number of new AI models.
βœ” The impact of AI on demand is being felt faster than on supply.
βœ” A one-time price spike does not necessarily mean rising inflation.
βœ” Whether AI will exacerbate inflation or not depends on the actions of the Federal Reserve.
βœ” Wages have been growing at a moderate pace, but it is not yet clear when wage growth will accelerate due to increased productivity.
βœ” The sharp rise in prices in AI is a reality, and I do not want to take this lightly.
βœ” Business investment in equipment, technology, and other productive assets makes a huge contribution to GDP, and I believe this trend will continue.
βœ” I believe that productivity growth will have a sustained disinflationary effect.
❗️ The Federal Reserve's balance sheet should be as small as possible (#QT) and should only expand in times of crisis.
βœ” I would not hesitate if Trump tried to influence the Federal Reserve's policies.
βœ” The labor market is in good shape, and I am not sure that the rate cut was the reason for this.
βœ” Monetary policy has fueled inflation. Inflation will not be permanent.

⚑ Kevin Warsh (Chairman of #FederalReserve):

βœ” We will review our tools – both the balance sheet and the interest rate – and assess whether any adjustments are needed to combat inflation.
βœ” I expect to receive the first reports from the targeted working groups in early September.
βœ” None of the inflation indicators are satisfactory.
βœ” The labor market is generally balanced.
βœ” In my opinion, there is no limit to the pace of economic growth.
βœ” The situation with inflation, which is also within the mandate of the Federal Reserve, looks worse.
βœ” Significant structural changes are taking place in the labor market.
βœ” Perhaps we would have noticed the problem earlier in 2021 if we had been monitoring the money supply. If the Federal Reserve had considered this data, we might have seen the beginning of the inflationary surge sooner.
βœ” If AI companies disappoint investors, the inflow of capital will dry up.
βœ” The rapid growth of investment in AI and the valuations of AI companies deserve attention.
βœ” The central bank is striving for broader economic growth and more targeted control of inflation.
βœ” It appears that corporate profits are growing in various sectors of the economy.
βœ” If AI does not live up to expectations, a significant portion of the investments in related infrastructure and equipment can still be used for other purposes.
βœ” We are already seeing how the construction of data centers is affecting demand in the economy.
βœ” Investors should understand what is happening in the economy.

Not through military conquest. Through making abundance irresistible.
