$PLTR Palantir CEO Alex Karp says enterprises want to "own the means of production" instead of "transferring their alpha" to OpenAI or Anthropic: "Why are [LLMs] charging for tokens if it's so valuable?" "If it was so valuable—let's say I can make you a…
Palantir CEO Alex Karp on the Wealth Tax:

 "It just punishes."

"It starts with the billionaires."

"Every single person at this table is going to be paying a wealth tax only to punish us."

"And the reason for it is—these models have been completely, irresponsibly oversold."

" And the sell is, 'It's dangerous for everyone—which is why I can give it to all your adversaries, but I can't give it to the Department of War."

"Or, I can't safely give it to an enterprise in this country without being certain that the alpha of that business could transfer to this model tomorrow."

"At every single enterprise I deal with, these people are livid."

"They're like, 'I'm paying for tokens that create no value. These people are stealing the weights and alpha of my business, and they're creating a wealth tax that does not help the poor."

I’m genuinely wondering how NVIDIA holds up long term.

OpenAI now has Jalapeño. Google has TPUs. Amazon has Trainium and Inferentia. Meta is working on MTIA. Every major AI player either already has custom inference silicon or is clearly trying to get there.

NVIDIA still has the ecosystem, CUDA, networking, supply chain and insane execution. So I’m not saying they disappear. That would be stupid.

But the direction is obvious: the big labs don’t want to rent the future from one vendor forever.

The real question is whether NVIDIA stays the king of AI compute, or whether this was peak monopoly.
Gold has crashed 25% from its March peak of $5,300.

Gold has underperformed stocks by 30% since March.

But here's the model that explains why.

Think of gold as an insurance policy on the entire financial system.

Its value equals the sum insured, all global stocks, bonds, and cash, times an insurance premium rate.

That premium rate is the market's fear of wealth confiscation.

Debasement, government default, or a banking collapse.

The higher the fear, the higher gold's premium.

Since 1971, this rate has averaged around 5%. But it swings violently with fear.

It hit 20% in the 1970s inflation shock. Over 10% after the financial crisis.

And it recently surged past 10% again, on "Trump 2.0" fears and central bank worries about the dollar.

Now that fear is fading, and the premium is reverting to its 5% average, just like after every past extreme.

For that to happen, gold must underperform financial assets by another 35%.

#WTI US Oil is getting closer to the $50 target. The mini wedge ends today so we'll see if that signals a big drop or a mini bounce.
#WTI US Oil collapsed out of the mini wedge to $68 today.

We're within $10 of my $58 July target that people said was impossible back in April 2026.

I see what they're doing...

China's move to remove paper #gold will trigger the reflex rally, exactly like May 1980.

$AXE has signed a strategic three-year Quantum Compute Agreement with US-based $IONQ to accelerate its quantum software development and explore Australian market opportunities.

Under the US$1.5 million deal, $AXE and its customers gain cloud access to $IONQ high-performance 36-qubit Forte quantum processor to run complex algorithms and refine its proprietary quantum machine learning fraud detection models.

Additionally, the companies will conduct a feasibility study to assess deployment options for a physical, sovereign $IONQ quantum computer inside an Australian data center.

This onshore strategy specifically targets Australia's projected $6 billion domestic quantum market by 2030, catering to defense, government, and banking clients bound by strict data sovereignty regulations.

Fable 5 was supposed to be the next frontier model.

Instead people are getting fallbacks, useless refusals, account holds, brutal limits, and safety popups on completely normal prompts.

This is not a launch.

This is Anthropic shipping a Ferrari with a panic button glued to the engine.

Anthropic basically admits the problem themselves.

The safeguards are too broad. Harmless requests get flagged. Biology-adjacent questions can trigger fallback. Users get pushed to Opus 4.8.

So the “most powerful model” disappears exactly when you try to do serious work.

Brilliant.

Asking for unanswered questions in cancer research should not trigger a safety freakout.

That is normal science.

If Fable 5 can’t handle basic biomedical research questions without hiding behind Opus 4.8, then stop pretending this is a serious tool for researchers.

The political theory stuff is just embarrassing.

A model that can’t discuss historical political theory is not “aligned”.

It’s a corporate compliance bot wearing a frontier-model costume.

At some point safety stops being safety and becomes intellectual self-harm.

And then it flags harmless biology questions like “do bumblebees fart?”

That is not protecting humanity.

That is a classifier with a concussion.

If your flagship model treats basic curiosity like a biosecurity incident, the product is broken.

The rate limits make it even worse.

One serious loop and people are already done for the session. So even when Fable 5 works, it barely lets you use it.

A “research partner” that taps out after five minutes is not a research partner.

It’s a demo with anxiety.

This is the real problem with Fable 5.

Maybe the raw intelligence is there. Maybe it’s amazing under the hood.

But if users constantly hit fallbacks, limits, account holds, and dumb refusals, then the practical product is useless.

Anthropic didn’t release a frontier model.

They released fear with a chat box.

Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora said 90% of enterprise workers are behind on AI, and it could determine the fate of their careers.

He expects 20% to 25% of his workforce to change within 12 months.

According to a 2025 Orgvue study, 39% of leaders had already cut workers after deploying AI.
