π¨Chevron just signed a 20-year power deal with Microsoft to build a 2.67 GW natural gas plant co-located with a data center in West Texas.
FID by end of 2026, first power in 2028.
The Permian is now powering AI π€π’οΈβ‘
Project Kilby: a co-located power and data center development built through a phased, modular approach. GE Vernova turbines provide the majority of generation. Solar Turbines (Caterpillar Inc.) supply additional capacity.
Chevron's partner: Engine No. 1 the activist fund that once forced 3 board seats onto Exxon in the name of the energy transition.
Now building a gas plant for Microsoft.
π’οΈWhy Chevron, why now?
Jeff Gustavson, Chevron's New Energies president: "Chevron is uniquely positioned to deliver power with certainty, speed and at a competitive cost, leveraging Permian natural gas."
This is the vertical integration play own the upstream gas, pipe it to a dedicated power plant, sell the electrons to a hyperscaler on a 20-year contract completely bypassing spot electricity markets and grid congestion.
π°What Microsoft is buying?
Dedicated, dispatchable, large-scale power that doesn't compete with the regional grid.
Noelle Walsh, Microsoft president of Cloud Operations: "AI and cloud demand requires energy infrastructure that can scale quickly and reliably."
2.67 GW is roughly the output of 2 large nuclear reactors dedicated to one customer, in one location.
πΈ$10 billion+ in state and local tax revenue over the project life.
πΈ2,000 jobs in West Texas.
πΈBrackish groundwater instead of freshwater no competition with local agriculture. π
The AI energy bottleneck is being solved the American way: Permian gas, big turbines, 20 year contracts.
Chevron didn't pivot to clean energy. It pivoted to the energy that data centers actually need.

This is insane.
For decades, developing hypersonic systems meant years of simulations, testing and engineering iterations.
This changes the pace entirely.
U.S. Air Force just unveiled Flyer, a next generation supercomputer built to accelerate hypersonic, aerospace and AI research.
"Flyer features approximately 186,000 processor cores, 800 TB of RAM, 18 PB of storage and delivers around 8.7 petaflops of computing performance."
"AFRL says the system can solve computational problems in a single day that would take a typical laptop roughly 500 years to complete."
Researchers will use Flyer for advanced computational fluid dynamics, hypersonic vehicle simulations, AI workloads, digital engineering and next generation defense research.

Investing in American quantum leadership like never before.
President Trump signs executive orders on quantum, supercharging a national effort in innovation in quantum technologies, ensuring national security and continuing American growth in a critical industry. π»πΊπΈ

Trump just signed executive orders to supercharge quantum in America. πΊπΈ
The names everyone's already pointing at are the usual suspects from the $2B CHIPS program: $IBM, $INFQ, $RGTI, and big tech like $GOOG.
And fair enough, those have been on everyone's radar for a while now.
But the whole theme of what Trump signed is one word: American.
Domestic machines, trusted domestic supply chains...
AMERICAN (Q)UANTUM DOMINANCE.
And here's the name almost nobody is connecting to this: $AMPG.
A few days ago, AmpliTech said this on LinkedIn, word for word:
"AmpliTech is the only U.S.-based manufacturer of cryogenic LNAs, a distinction that matters more and more as domestic supply chains become a priority across defense and quantum computing research procurement."
As we always say: obviously not the only one in the world. A Swedish firm, Low Noise Factory, is the global leader. But that's exactly the point.
What is the whole thing Trump just emphasized?
AMERICAN quantum dominance.
Trusted, domestic supply for defense and quantum.
And the global leader in these cryogenic amplifiers is Swedish.
Not American.
The entire policy push is about sourcing this exact kind of critical hardware at home, not from abroad.
AMPG builds these cryo amplifiers in the United States, and already ships them to the biggest names in quantum.
That is precisely the profile this order is designed to favor: a domestic maker of a hard, strategically critical component.
To be straight with you: AMPG is not named in the order or in the $2B program, and I won't pretend it is.
But it sits right inside the tailwind.
More American quantum machines, built on trusted domestic supply, means more demand for the American-made ears those machines need.
And here's the best part.
I think AMPG is undervalued on its 5G, Open RAN, and Open6G (with NVIDIA!!) business alone.
The only American 64T64R AI-RAN radio, deployed at a Tier-1 carrier, margins inflecting, debt-free.
The quantum side is the extra.
A free, and very juicy, piece of optionality at the exact moment the US government decides quantum sovereignty is a national priority.
You get the core telecom story.
The quantum tailwind is the bonus on top.
Not financial advice. I'm long $AMPG. DYOR. π‘

We are probably going to see an AI model used to break into major intelligence networks sooner than people think.
Imagine one model getting access to classified knowledge across agencies, contractors, diplomats, satellites, cyber units, archives.
That kind of information would be insane leverage.
My guess is that the US is doing this already.

When is Google finally dropping Gemini 3.5 Pro?
Feels like everyone is waiting for the big comeback moment, but idk.
My fear is that it lands, benchmarks look decent, demos look shiny, and real world usage still feels weirdly underwhelming.
Google has insane talent and compute.
So why does it still feel like they are always almost about to cook?
