Anthropic Just Shot Itself in the Foot

Anthropic launched Fable 5 and Mythos 5, then watched the US government shut them down three days later. The same government their CEO Dario Amodei has been begging for years to regulate AI harder. Now he got exactly what he asked for.

This is straight-up leadership failure. Dario spent all that time pushing for rules and oversight. Those rules just killed his flagship models overnight. Customers in the middle of builds got cut off. Security teams using the models to find vulnerabilities suddenly had nothing. The company tried to call it a narrow export control thing over a jailbreak, but nobody is buying that spin.

I helped move big clients off Anthropic the same night. One account alone was worth millions a month. They switched to local open-source models and they are not coming back.

This is going to leave permanent damage. Customer exodus, key people leaving, and their IPO plans looking dead by the end of summer.

This hurts US AI competitiveness and national security work. It pushes people toward open-source options, including ones from China.

All because Anthropic positioned itself as the “safe and responsible” company that wanted government help. Now that help just flipped the off switch on their best stuff.

Let’s run through Dario’s greatest hits of fear-mongering and delay tactics, because the pattern is ridiculous:

• Back in 2019 at OpenAI, he helped push the call that GPT-2 was too dangerous to release fully. The world needed time to prepare, they said. It eventually came out anyway, and here we are. Did the sky fall?

• He left OpenAI to start Anthropic, preaching “safe” AI with heavy guardrails, Constitutional AI, and all the rest.

• Then came the endless public pleas for pauses, regulations, government audits, FAA-style oversight, export controls, and the power to block deployments. Essay after essay warning about risks while his company kept scaling.

• Right up to recent weeks, Dario was still out there calling for stronger rules, pauses on frontier models, and giving governments the kill switch.

And now? His own Mythos-class models get yanked by the bureaucracy he helped invite in. The clown show is complete.
This is ridiculous.

In two years, everyone will have Mythos-class AI — or better — running in their pocket, on their devices, with no guardrails, no corporate nanny filters, and no remote kill switch.

Local, open-source, unstoppable. History is going to laugh at this entire episode: the CEO who spent years slowing everyone down only to watch his own company self-destruct by inviting the regulators to the party.

Dario wanted regulation. He got it. The rest of the industry gets the lesson: inviting the state into your tech is a fast way to lose control of it.

Centralized models like this are too fragile.

Open-source and local alternatives just picked up a lot more users who will never trust a company like Anthropic again.

This whole mess was completely avoidable. Hubris dressed up as safety advocacy.

Now the bill is due.

Not a broken chart.

Not a dead streaming company.

A multi-year recovery trend.

Price continues making higher lows while pressing against major resistance.

The longer the compression beneath resistance, the more powerful the eventual breakout can become.

Definitely one I'm watching very closely

$LAES Not a broken chart.

Not a failed momentum story.

A multi-month compression between converging trendlines.

Now add:

- Quantum-safe communications
- SpaceX satellite launch planned for Q4 2026
- First-ever DePIN from space initiative

Price has spent months building energy beneath resistance.
The longer a stock compresses while the fundamental story improves, the more interesting the eventual resolution becomes.

A decisive breakout above the descending trendline could put a lot more eyes on this one.

Definitely staying on my watchlist.

#Quantum #Space #Cybersecurity #DePIN #SpaceX
$MTEN This is exactly the kind of low-float setup that can become very interesting if volume returns. Not a breakout yet.
Not a momentum chase.
A tightening consolidation right beneath resistance.

What I'm watching:
- Higher lows building
- Price compressing into an ascending triangle
- Volume remaining elevated after the initial expansion
- Resistance sitting near the $2.90-$3.00 area

The longer price holds above the rising trendline, the more pressure continues to build.
A clean break through $3 could quickly change the character of this chart.

Compression creates expansion.
Definitely one to keep on the radar.

Invest in - "sovereign AI".

As the US keeps tightening export controls on advanced AI chips, technology and recently new frontier models (Fable 5), governments outside the US are realizing they can't depend on AI they don't control.

So they're racing to build their own. That means their own chips, data centers, and models, on their own soil. That's "sovereign AI," and it's become one of the biggest spending trends in tech.

1. The EU is going all in. Through its InvestAI plan, the EU committed €20 billion to build AI gigafactories, each with around 100,000 AI chips, to train Europe's own very large models instead of relying on US companies. They even have a Commissioner for Tech Sovereignty. The whole goal is for Europe to stand on its own as an "AI continent."

2. Australia too. Its National AI Plan pushes sovereign capability, meaning Australian data on Australian controlled infrastructure. Data center investment there is forecast to reach about AU$26 billion by 2030, and giants are piling in, with Microsoft investing A$25 billion and AWS A$20 billion to build local capacity. The same story is forming across the Middle East, India, and Japan.

3. So how does a beginner actually invest in this? The key insight: you don't need to guess which AI model wins. You invest in the "picks and shovels," the companies that build the chips, data centers, and power that every sovereign AI project runs on. They get paid regardless of whose model wins.

4. The simplest, lower risk way is an ETF. Instead of betting on one company, an ETF holds a whole basket.

For this theme, something like the Global X Data Center & Digital Infrastructure ETF $DTCR, which holds data center operators and digital infrastructure names, packages it into one ticker.

VanEck also just launched a data center supply chain ETF $RACK. This is usually the smartest starting point for a beginner.

5. If you want individual names (higher risk, higher reward), think in layers. For chips, there's Nvidia $NVDA, which sells the GPUs to nearly everyone, including the EU, since it has no chip production of its own yet. For the data center and "neocloud" layer, there's the big 3, $IREN Nebius $NBIS, and CoreWeave $CRWV, which build and rent out the actual compute.

6. Why IREN stands out on the sovereign angle.
It has power and data centers across the US, Europe (Spain), and Asia Pacific, the exact regions building sovereign AI. And its recent Mirantis acquisition added the software and Kubernetes orchestration layer that turns raw GPUs into a complete, standalone AI cloud a government or bank can run on its own terms.

> Hardware plus software plus global footprint.

Next year will be a major inflection point for $IREN

Important to note that IREN has confirmed that they are already in negotiations for 2027 capacity.

$MU Everyone wants AI exposure.

Few investors ask a much more important question:

Where does all that AI data actually live?

The answer is memory.

While the market chases the latest AI headlines, Micron continues doing what leaders do:

- Higher highs
- Higher lows
- Strong institutional accumulation
- Rising volume trend
- Powerful AI demand tailwinds

The chart remains in a textbook long-term uptrend and is now pushing back toward all-time highs ahead of earnings.
Interesting timing considering one of the most respected value investors ever, Li Lu, once held 11.4M shares before exiting in 2023.
Today that position would be worth over $11 billion.
The AI story hasn't slowed down.

And memory remains one of its most critical foundations.

Still one of my favorite large-cap AI charts.

$POET This is exactly why I've been watching it closely.

Not because of what happened.

Because of what could happen next.

The chart is compressing after a powerful advance while volume remains elevated — often the type of action that precedes the next directional move.

What makes this setup interesting is that the technical picture is being supported by multiple fundamental catalysts:

- AI optical networking demand continues accelerating
- POET's optical interposer platform targets AI datacenters and high-speed connectivity markets
- Growing industry focus on reducing power consumption and improving bandwidth efficiency in AI infrastructure
- Potential commercialization and customer adoption milestones throughout 2026

The AI buildout isn't slowing down.
More AI means more data.
More data means faster optical connectivity.

That's where the story gets interesting.

As long as price continues holding this consolidation range, the next breakout attempt remains firmly on the table.

$SLNH dip looks more like a momentum reset than a breakdown. Still seeing: → strong OBV → elevated volume → bullish structure → AI/power infrastructure narrative intact This is where things get interesting. The market still can’t decide if: $SLNH is a Bitcoin…
$SLNH The market continues focusing on AI chips.

I continue focusing on the infrastructure required to make AI possible.

Every new datacenter, AI model and compute cluster ultimately depends on one thing:

Power.

That is why the broader thesis around $SLNH remains compelling.

The company is building at the intersection of energy infrastructure, renewable power assets and next-generation compute demand — a theme that continues gaining importance as AI deployment accelerates.

From a technical perspective, price has spent the last several weeks compressing within a tightening symmetrical triangle.

Not a broken chart.

Not a failed breakout.

A consolidation.

Volume has remained constructive while the range continues narrowing, suggesting the market is waiting for the next catalyst.

The AI revolution will not be constrained by chips alone.

It will be constrained by access to power.

Companies positioned to solve that problem deserve attention.

It remains firmly on my watchlist.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Per U.S. officials, the vice president will sign the MOU in Geneva, after which the harder technical talks shift to Islamabad, fitting given Pakistan brokered the whole thing.

Trump will then use next week's G7 in France to ask world leaders to help monitor the Strait of Hormuz and keep Iran honest on the terms.

Two things worth noting.

Moving phase two to Islamabad cements Pakistan as the permanent guarantor, not just the courier.

And Trump seeking multinational monitoring of Hormuz means the strait's reopening becomes an international project, not a U.S. and Iran handshake, which is how you make a fragile deal harder for either side to quietly break.
