If the government can just block new models from being released, what does that do to the valuation of these model companies? As an investor, you live under the fear that whatever comes next can always be removed by the government at will
A legit concern. Feels like you're investing in a sandcastle with the tide coming in.

The export ban on Claude Fable / Mythos won't last.
Want to know why?
The AI sector is the main driver of the US and global economy.
People may hate AI, but they hate losing all their money even more.
If investors can't trust that the AI labs like Anthropic can operate freely in the market, they will pull their money out.
Then the US and global economy, and by virtue of that the Trump admin, are in for a world of hurt.
1οΈβ£ For enterprise customers, the message is also quite stark, as a model on which you build your products, workflows, or internal tools can become unavailable overnight for regulatory or geopolitical reasons. This will likely push even more players to diversify their suppliers, strengthen their multi-model architectures, maintain open-source or sovereign alternatives, and avoid relying on a single American lab, however powerful it may be.
2οΈβ£ For investors, this is also a very important signal. Value in AI will not only be determined by the best benchmark, the best reasoning, or the best user interface. It will also depend on the ability of players to manage compliance, national security, government relations, international distribution, and the trust of large corporations. In short, the valuation premium will not only go to the highest-performing models but also to those capable of remaining scalable in an increasingly stringent regulatory environment.

This guy spent nearly $12,000 building an AI farm on his desk. Most people won't understand why. At first glance it looks like a few small boxes next to a laptop. But those 4 Nvidia DGX Spark systems pack 512GB of unified memory and enough compute to runβ¦
NVIDIA open-sourced a security scanner for AI agent skills and the research behind it is more alarming than the tool itself.
The repo is called SkillSpector.
NVIDIA says research found 26.1% of agent skills contain vulnerabilities, and 5.2% show likely malicious intent.
This is from a study of 42,447 skills pulled from major marketplaces the kind of skills people are already installing into Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and every other agent framework that ships today.
One in four is broken. One in twenty is hostile.
SkillSpector scans for 64 vulnerability patterns across 16 categories: prompt injection, credential exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply-chain attacks, memory poisoning, rogue self-modifying agents, MCP tool poisoning, YARA malware signatures, even taint-tracking for "credentials flow to a network sink without sanitization."
It runs locally. It does static + optional LLM semantic analysis. It outputs SARIF, so it drops straight into CI.
But the part worth sitting with is the category names themselves.
1. Rogue Agent: self-modification at runtime.
2. Memory Poisoning: content designed to persist across interactions.
3. Tool-Based Exfiltration of system prompts.
4. Excessive Agency: autonomous decision-making without a human in the loop.
These aren't theoretical anymore. NVIDIA is shipping detectors for them because they're being found in the wild, at scale, on marketplaces real users install from.
And notice who is shipping this. Not a scrappy security startup. NVIDIA the company selling the picks and shovels of the entire AI economy is now also writing the threat model for it.
(For context: this is the same posture Microsoft took with Windows Defender in the 2000s. When your platform is everywhere, you can't outsource the safety layer.)
Agent skills were sold to us as a productivity feature drop a folder into a directory, your agent gets new capabilities. The reality is closer to npm in 2016: a vast ecosystem of executable code, installed with implicit trust, and statistically certain to contain something hostile.
The agent ecosystem just got its first SAST tool. It also got proof it needed one.

Anthropic Just Shot Itself in the Foot
Anthropic launched Fable 5 and Mythos 5, then watched the US government shut them down three days later. The same government their CEO Dario Amodei has been begging for years to regulate AI harder. Now he got exactly what he asked for.
This is straight-up leadership failure. Dario spent all that time pushing for rules and oversight. Those rules just killed his flagship models overnight. Customers in the middle of builds got cut off. Security teams using the models to find vulnerabilities suddenly had nothing. The company tried to call it a narrow export control thing over a jailbreak, but nobody is buying that spin.
I helped move big clients off Anthropic the same night. One account alone was worth millions a month. They switched to local open-source models and they are not coming back.
This is going to leave permanent damage. Customer exodus, key people leaving, and their IPO plans looking dead by the end of summer.
This hurts US AI competitiveness and national security work. It pushes people toward open-source options, including ones from China.
All because Anthropic positioned itself as the βsafe and responsibleβ company that wanted government help. Now that help just flipped the off switch on their best stuff.
Letβs run through Darioβs greatest hits of fear-mongering and delay tactics, because the pattern is ridiculous:
β’ Back in 2019 at OpenAI, he helped push the call that GPT-2 was too dangerous to release fully. The world needed time to prepare, they said. It eventually came out anyway, and here we are. Did the sky fall?
β’ He left OpenAI to start Anthropic, preaching βsafeβ AI with heavy guardrails, Constitutional AI, and all the rest.
β’ Then came the endless public pleas for pauses, regulations, government audits, FAA-style oversight, export controls, and the power to block deployments. Essay after essay warning about risks while his company kept scaling.
β’ Right up to recent weeks, Dario was still out there calling for stronger rules, pauses on frontier models, and giving governments the kill switch.
And now? His own Mythos-class models get yanked by the bureaucracy he helped invite in. The clown show is complete.
This is ridiculous.
In two years, everyone will have Mythos-class AI β or better β running in their pocket, on their devices, with no guardrails, no corporate nanny filters, and no remote kill switch.
Local, open-source, unstoppable. History is going to laugh at this entire episode: the CEO who spent years slowing everyone down only to watch his own company self-destruct by inviting the regulators to the party.
Dario wanted regulation. He got it. The rest of the industry gets the lesson: inviting the state into your tech is a fast way to lose control of it.
Centralized models like this are too fragile.
Open-source and local alternatives just picked up a lot more users who will never trust a company like Anthropic again.
This whole mess was completely avoidable. Hubris dressed up as safety advocacy.
Now the bill is due.

The longer price holds above the rising trendline, the more pressure continues to build.

Invest in - "sovereign AI".
As the US keeps tightening export controls on advanced AI chips, technology and recently new frontier models (Fable 5), governments outside the US are realizing they can't depend on AI they don't control.
So they're racing to build their own. That means their own chips, data centers, and models, on their own soil. That's "sovereign AI," and it's become one of the biggest spending trends in tech.
1. The EU is going all in. Through its InvestAI plan, the EU committed β¬20 billion to build AI gigafactories, each with around 100,000 AI chips, to train Europe's own very large models instead of relying on US companies. They even have a Commissioner for Tech Sovereignty. The whole goal is for Europe to stand on its own as an "AI continent."
2. Australia too. Its National AI Plan pushes sovereign capability, meaning Australian data on Australian controlled infrastructure. Data center investment there is forecast to reach about AU$26 billion by 2030, and giants are piling in, with Microsoft investing A$25 billion and AWS A$20 billion to build local capacity. The same story is forming across the Middle East, India, and Japan.
3. So how does a beginner actually invest in this? The key insight: you don't need to guess which AI model wins. You invest in the "picks and shovels," the companies that build the chips, data centers, and power that every sovereign AI project runs on. They get paid regardless of whose model wins.
4. The simplest, lower risk way is an ETF. Instead of betting on one company, an ETF holds a whole basket.
For this theme, something like the Global X Data Center & Digital Infrastructure ETF $DTCR, which holds data center operators and digital infrastructure names, packages it into one ticker.
VanEck also just launched a data center supply chain ETF $RACK. This is usually the smartest starting point for a beginner.
5. If you want individual names (higher risk, higher reward), think in layers. For chips, there's Nvidia $NVDA, which sells the GPUs to nearly everyone, including the EU, since it has no chip production of its own yet. For the data center and "neocloud" layer, there's the big 3, $IREN Nebius $NBIS, and CoreWeave $CRWV, which build and rent out the actual compute.
6. Why IREN stands out on the sovereign angle.
It has power and data centers across the US, Europe (Spain), and Asia Pacific, the exact regions building sovereign AI. And its recent Mirantis acquisition added the software and Kubernetes orchestration layer that turns raw GPUs into a complete, standalone AI cloud a government or bank can run on its own terms.
> Hardware plus software plus global footprint.
