Tech titans have formed the Optical Compute Interconnect Multi-Source Agreement (OCI MSA) to develop an open, standardized specification for optical interconnections in AI data centers.

This initiative aims to overcome the physical and performance limitations of traditional copper interconnects, which are struggling to meet the massive bandwidth, power efficiency, and scale requirements of next-generation AI clusters.

Founding members include:

-Chip/accelerator designers: NVIDIA, AMD, Broadcom
-Hyperscalers & AI labs: Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI

These firms are collaborating to define a protocol-agnostic physical layer (PHY) specification. This will allow their respective protocols (e.g., NVIDIAโ€™s NVLink and AMDโ€™s UALink) to run over optical fiber, supporting larger multi-rack AI domains and a multi-vendor supply chain.

Copper-based links are hitting fundamental limits in bandwidth and power consumption as AI models and clusters grow. They also create supply chain constraints. The shift to optics is seen as essential for scaling AI infrastructure toward โ€œsuper-intelligence.โ€

The OCI MSA covers various optical technologies, including:

-Pluggable optical modules
-On-board optics
-Co-packaged optics (CPO), such as TSMCโ€™s COUPE technology

Key Benefits

-Higher bandwidth and better power efficiency than copper
-Larger-scale AI compute domains (multi-rack)
-Reduced costs through standardization and multi-vendor competition
-De-risked supply chains (less sole reliance on any single supplier)
-Ability to mix different AI ecosystems on the same optical infrastructure

36 hours after the blockade went live.

Here's a list of oil refineries that have mysteriously caught fire or been blown up the last 45 days.

Governments don't want you to learn history, because they literally repeat it.

What happened in the 1970s is happening again, but this time instead of a 4% reduction in oil it's 20%. The U.S. is intentionally blowing up refineries in Russia & Australia, pipelines to Europe, capturing Venezuela so additional oil supply can't come online.

The goal is to starve China and the world of oil, collapsing industrial capacity outside of the U.S. and sucking all of the Dollars in circulation back into the U.S.

The U.S. doesn't care how bad the economy gets, as long as it's worse everywhere else.

Correct again #richimedhurst. The goal here is starve China of oil and Dollars, while destroying their Belt & Road initiative.

China has 4 months of oil reserves + Russian pipelines, so this Iran blockade could last 6 months or longer if China doesn't make a deal.

This oil shortage will damage many countries outside of China that hold U.S. treasuries, and that's the plan.

I believe the ultimate goal here is to starve every nation of oil and Dollars so that they're desperately willing to sell their U.S. treasuries back to the U.S. below face value, in exchange for oil or Dollars.

This allows the U.S. to take their debt out of circulation (at a discount), and eliminate interest payments on the debt that is no longer sustainable.

Thus a Great Reset of debt.

#PathRobotics just launched Rove, a mobile welding robot that pairs its Obsidian AI model with a legged platform โ€” bringing autonomous welding directly to the workpiece instead of the other way around.

First launch partner: Saronic Technologies, which builds autonomous naval vessels in Franklin, Louisiana, and is integrating Rove into its shipyard operations.

Fixed-cell welding automation just got legs.
