The US is loaning 10 million barrels from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve to private companies to ease the oil supply crunch caused by the Iran war.

Companies have until April 6 to submit proposals. They will return the oil with additional barrels as a premium.

This follows the first batch of 45.2 million barrels already loaned on March 21, making this the largest SPR drawdown in US history.

Trump just few days ago saying "The United States is the largest oil producer in the world, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money and U.S has no energy crisis.

Trump just days ago said "The United States is the largest oil producer in the world, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money" and that the US has no energy crisis.

The same president is now drawing down emergency reserves at a historic pace.

The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command has awarded SpaceX a $178.5 million task order for additional launches under the National Security Space Launch Phase 3 Lane 1 program.

The award covers two launches for the SDA, scheduled to begin in Q3 2027. One launch will take place from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, while the other will lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The missions will deploy multiple Sierra Space missile tracking satellites into orbit to support warfighter requirements and strengthen national defense capabilities.

The SDA-4 award builds on previous task orders that also support missile warning and tracking missions, including the nine task orders totaling $739 million awarded to SpaceX in January.

$NVDA NVIDIA is worth 2.5x Saudi aramco

The market thinks chips beat barrelsπŸ›’οΈ

Tech owns the global top 10 and Oil looks like yesterday's game.

But every Nvidia GPU runs on minerals China controls at 90%.

Every data center needs power.

In my latest article I cover what the market is missing:

β†’ How China built a processing monopoly over every material that matters, while the West wasn't watching

β†’ Why Taiwan is not a sovereignty dispute but the central node of AI hardware

β†’ What Venezuela, Iran, and Russia have in common right now

β†’ Why Europe is more trapped than it admits

β†’ 4 ways the Iran war ends and what each one costs China

The war just made this chart the most important in the world.

Look at who's vulnerable.

Oil dominates the energy mix of 6 of the world's 10 largest economies.

The US, Germany, Japan, UK, Italy and India.

All running on the fuel that flows through a closed strait.
But 2 countries stand out:

πŸ‡«πŸ‡· France nearly half its energy is nuclear. Built quietly for decades. Almost untouchable right now.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ China oil's share of its mix? Shrinking fast. EVs. Electrification. Overland pipelines. China's electricity share is already 30% ahead of the US and EU stuck at 22%.

Everyone called China's energy push about climate.

It was never about climate.

It was about escape from one big dependency like Hormuz.

Meanwhile Europe is suddenly rediscovering nuclear after years of shutting plants down.

Funny how $100 oil changes the conversation.

The energy transition used to be about saving the planet.

Now it's about survival.

And the countries that moved first, strategically, without announcements are the ones sleeping fine

Which country on this chart surprises you most?

The interesting part is that this is not being built around one robot.

It’s a hardware agnostic, plug and play system, which means the power layer can sit above the fleet rather than forcing the fleet to conform to one charging setup.

πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺ On the same day Trump addressed the nation about Iran, the Treasury Department quietly removed Venezuela's acting president from the sanctions list.

Nobody connected the two.

January 3: Maduro captured. Delta Force. Manhattan courtroom.

January 29: Rodriguez signs the Hydrocarbons Law. Chavez model broken. Foreign oil companies in.

February: OFAC General Licenses 46, 47, 49. US investment authorized.

April 1: Rodriguez off the SDN list entirely.

April 3: New royalty and tax regime for foreign oil companies goes live.

The sequence: Remove the regime. Install cooperative leadership. Reform oil. Lift sanctions. Let capital move.

Now read Iraq.

Proxy network departed. 9 of 12 blocs backing Sudani. Three new oil export routes built under crisis pressure. CBI Governor sitting in rooms planning expansion.

Budget frozen because the exchange rate is the challenge.

Same administration. Same playbook.

Gold fell $100 on a war escalation speech last night. That does not happen when money expects a long fight.

That happens when the room heard the exit ramp being built underneath the Stone Age rhetoric.

The first one moved. VES soon.

πŸ‡»πŸ‡ͺ On the same day Trump addressed the nation about Iran, the Treasury Department quietly removed Venezuela's acting president from the sanctions list. Nobody connected the two. January 3: Maduro captured. Delta Force. Manhattan courtroom. January 29: Rodriguez…
The April 3 detail is the one nobody caught.

Venezuela's own (HCL) Hydrocarbons Law passed January 29. But Articles 51 through 59, the royalty and tax provisions that set the actual terms for foreign oil investment, had a 60-day activation delay.

That delay expires tomorrow. Two days after Rodriguez came off the US sanctions list.

Door opened April 1. Terms activate April 3.
Tell me that is not a coincidence.

πŸ“° Top Headlines

πŸ“‹ Headline: Lilly's new weight-loss pill approved β€” WSJ
Impact: Positive for biotech equities; consumption and pricing debates ahead.
Forex angle: Risk-on tone could mildly weigh on safe-haven USD if approval boosts equity flows; pharma-linked FX (CHF, JPY) may see short-term moves.

βœ… Headline: Trump: U.S. in great shape; imports barely any oil via Strait of Hormuz and won’t do so at all in future
Impact: Geopolitical reassurance on oil chokepoint reduces near-term oil-risk premium.
Forex angle: Eased energy-risk reduces support for commodity-linked FX (AUD, CAD, NOK); potential USD strength if perceived as stronger US energy independence narrative.

πŸ”– Headline: U.S. jobless claims fell unexpectedly last week (reported twice)
Impact: Stronger labor signal points to continued resilience in US jobs market.
Forex & rates: Supports higher short-term US yields β†’ bullish for USD. Risk of tighter Fed expectations; equity reaction may be mixed (growth vs. rates).

πŸ“Œ Headline: US trade gap below forecasts β€” Trading Economics
Impact: Tighter trade deficit reflects better export performance or softer imports.
Forex angle: Smaller deficit is USD-positive over time (improves external account narrative); could support USD/major pairs and reduce downside pressure on the greenback.

πŸ“‹ Combined market view:
Short-term drivers: stronger jobs data + smaller trade gap = USD-supportive; oil risk downplayed by political comments = mild drag on commodity FX. Pharma approval = sector-specific equity lift that may tilt risk sentiment positive.
Watchlist: upcoming US inflation and Fed communication β€” key to whether yields rise further and sustain USD moves.

βœ… Trading cues:
- USD/JPY: watch for safe-haven flows and yield differentials; stronger US jobs β†’ upside risk.
- EUR/USD: weaker on USD strength; monitor ECB commentary.
- AUD/CAD/NOK: sensitive to oil and risk tone β€” likely pressured if oil risk premium fades.
- Manage risk around headline-driven volatility; favor momentum/flow plays until macro prints confirm trend.
