To launch drones into high-risk zones, a staging area and personnel on the front line were always required. The Ukrainian autonomous ground vehicle ULTRA from Overland AI allows the Armed Forces of Ukraine to deploy drones without having soldiers present on the front line.

Most people are asking the wrong question about rearmament and commodities.

Global military spending is now ~$2.7T and rising fast.

A structural rebuild of industrial capacity.

But the impact is not equal across materials:

β€’ Rare earths β†’ direct and decisive

Used in magnets, sensors, guidance systems, electronic warfare

β€’ Strategic materials β†’ biggest hidden leverage

Tungsten, tantalum, antimony, gallium, graphite

Small markets, few substitutes, highly sensitive to demand

β€’ Copper β†’ real, but not the main driver

Defense adds demand, but electrification, grids and data centers dominate

β€’ Silver β†’ positive, but secondary

Used in electronics and military systems, but driven more by solar and macro

What most miss:

The demand shock is not from weapons being used.

But from:

β€’ rebuilding stockpiles

β€’ expanding production

β€’ reshoring supply chains

β€’ increasing redundancy

That is a long-cycle industrial shift.

The ranking:

Rare earths

Strategic bottleneck materials

Copper

Silver

Europe has long harboured ambitions to domestically develop medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) uninhabited aerial vehicles (UAVs). Except for Turkiye, it has so far failed to do so, despite two decades of sporadic effort. The United States remains the default provider for European states looking to acquire off-the-shelf MALE UAVs.

Militaries across the Middle East are investing heavily in artificial-intelligence-enabled military technologies. Israel is the most advanced regional player in this area, deploying AI weapons systems; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and decision-support systems in combat across the region. Turkiye has also developed several AI military systems, while the United Arab Emirates is investing in international arms manufacturers with a view to later indigenising this technology.
European navies have a limited ability to conduct long-range precision strikes, with only the UK and France possessing such missiles. However, several European countries have procurement plans, and multinational programmes are in progress to replace and supplement these missiles.

The Al-Muajjiz oil terminal along Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coastline was constructed in 1988 in support of Saddam Hussein's ambition to support Iraqi oil exports due to the ongoing Tanker War. The 1.65 Mbpd Iraq Pipeline through Saudi Arabia (IPSA) has been mothballed since Gulf War 1.
The oil supply shock is now moving through the entire world economy

Asia is hit the hardest by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. It is the largest oil importer globally, and ~84% of LNG and oil flows from the Strait were previously directed to Asia... that flow is now disrupted.

This has massive global implications.

Asia is also the world’s largest refining hub, accounting for ~40% of global refining capacity and ~50% of global fuel exports... both now under pressure.

No oil = no fuel = no exports

China, the largest fuel exporter, has already started restricting exports to protect domestic supply. As the shock persists, more countries will follow, extending restrictions beyond fuel to a wide range of critical goods.

Asia depends on oil/gas to sustain production

- ~60% of global plastic exports
- ~30% of fertilizer production
- ~20% of drug production

If this supply disruption persists, expect the world to go through a severe lockdown.

πŸ“‰WTI price was falling when Trump started speaking

πŸ“ˆ$107 when he finished

Here's what he said:

πŸ’£ "Extremely hard strikes" for 2-3 more weeks

⚑ Power plants get bombed if no deal

🚒 "Iran's navy is gone"

πŸ›’οΈ America won't import from Hormuz ever again

Here's what he didn't say:

❌ No ceasefire framework
❌ No acknowledgment Iran isn't ready to negotiate
❌ No plan for Hormuz
❌ Not a word about gas prices or inflation

Markets don't trade the speech.

They trade what's missing from it.

And what's missing is an exit.

"Core objectives close to completion" with no timeline for Hormuz reopening means one thing:
The supply gap stays.
The pain continues.

Australia's PM is begging citizens to take the bus.
India has 20 days of reserves.
Asia is rationing fuel.
And WTI just hit $107.

The speech was about victory.

The market is pricing in the morning after.

1 month inπŸ’₯ The targets have changed

It's an energy war, and it's about to get worse

Trump just promised strikes on power plants.

"Extremely hard. 2 to 3 more weeks"

πŸ’£ Pipelines burning
🏭 Refineries offline
⚑ Power plants next

on Iran's entire energy system

Every destroyed pipeline is a message to Beijing.

πŸ›’οΈ "China gets the majority of its oil through Hormuz"
🚒 "They should police it themselves"
✈️ "We're leaving"

Washington just handed China the world's most expensive babysitting job.

Guard Hormuz or lose your oil supply.

And while Beijing scrambles in the Middle East...Taiwan waits.

You can't run 2 crises at once.
Not even China.

That's the real game here.

America doesn't need Hormuz. It has shale.

Iran's infrastructure burns.
China gets distracted.
Taiwan gets a window.

1 war, 3 outcomes....All planned.

Trump just told Iran exactly what's coming if they don't deal.

Kharg IslandπŸ›’οΈ

He didn't say it, He didn't have to.

"We have not hit their oil. It's the easiest target of all."

Kharg Island handles 90% of Iran's oil exports.

One strike... Gone.

No oil revenue = no government
No government = no war
No war = Hormuz reopens

Trump is giving Iran a countdown

And the implications are massive:

πŸ›’οΈ Kharg hit β†’ Iran's economy collapses overnight

πŸ“‰ Oil spikes to $130+ immediately

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ China loses its cheap Iranian supply

πŸ•ŠοΈ Or Iran folds and cuts a deal this week

This is the final card.

The fact he's talking about it publicly means
It's already decided or he wants Iran to believe it is.

Either way the oil market woke up this morning in a different world.
