🇺🇸 Trump on Gas Prices and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve

Trump says the U.S. will tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to lower fuel prices.

His message:

“I filled it up once, and I’ll fill it up again. But right now we’ll reduce it a little bit, and that brings prices down.”

The idea is simple.

🛢️ Release emergency oil → increase supply → push gasoline prices lower.

According to Trump, the move is necessary to deal with what he called “47 years of horror” in the region’s conflicts affecting energy markets.

🇺🇸 Trump just gave China an impossible choice on Hormuz

🇨🇳 Either answer costs Beijing

Trump invited China and US allies to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz.

Sounds like coalition building.

It's not, it's a strategic dilemma for 🇨🇳

If China sends warships:

→ Joins a US led coalition

→ Undermines neutrality with Iran

→ Loses discounted Iranian crude

If China refuses:

→ Framed as free rider on global energy security

→ "You want the oil, but won't protect the route?"

→ International pressure builds

Either choice carries a cost💰

Trump acknowledged the real problem, even after destroying Iran's military, securing the Strait is another issue entirely.

Cheap mines, drones, missiles can still disrupt it.

The real question is Who controls global energy trade rules after the conflict?

If US escorts tankers alone → Dollar dominance continues

If a coalition escorts them → Shared influence, US loses unilateral control

If no one escorts them → China's shadow fleet becomes the only reliable channel

Warships in Hormuz = deciding which currency governs oil trade next.

The US isn't just fighting Iran.

It's eliminating China's cheap oil sources all 3 at once:

Venezuela: Gone (US firms now have access)

Russia: At risk ($150M/day boost while "sanctioned" expensive, unreliable)

Iran: In play (Hormuz closed, refineries destroyed)

China's economy runs on imported oil.

It had discounted sources.

The US just went after all of them this year.

Trump's invitation is asking: "Join our coalition and lose Iran? Or refuse and be labeled a free rider?"

Either way, China loses leverage.

Elon Musk on why universal basic income is coming and also points another massive challenge:

“I think ultimately we will have to have some kind of universal basic income. I don’t think we’re going to have a choice. I think it’s going to be necessary

There will be fewer and fewer jobs that a robot cannot do better

These are not things that I wish would happen - these are simply things that I think probably will happen

If my assessment is correct, then we need to say, ‘What are we going to do about it?’

Universal basic income is going to be necessary

The much harder challenge is how do people then have meaning? A lot of people derive their meaning from their employment

If you’re not needed, if there’s not a need for your labor, what’s the meaning? Do you have meaning? Do you feel useless? That’s a much harder problem to deal with”

Tesla’s AI Chip Roadmap: Why Terafab Is Essential 🔥 AI4 Manufactured by: Samsung (5nm) Purpose: Delivers autonomous vehicle safety performance well beyond human capability. AI5 Manufactured by: TSMC & Samsung Purpose: Pushes vehicle autonomy toward flawless…
In just 7 days, Tesla is going to start building Terafab, that’s their own chip factory from the ground up.

They’re done waiting on TSMC and Samsung (who are honestly maxed out) and plan to crank out advanced silicon for autonomous cars, Optimus robots, and AI supercomputers.

The goal is brutal: 1 million wafer starts per month by 2030 (matching TSMC's current output) at 2nm nodes, with a $20–25B price tag they can easily cover from their $44B cash pile.
Own the real-world infrastructure powering the AI revolution.

Because no matter how digital the world becomes, it still runs on physical assets:

• Critical minerals – Lithium, nickel, graphite
• Rare earth elements – Neodymium, praseodymium
• Copper – The backbone of electrification
• Silver & Gold – Monetary hedges + industrial demand
• Semiconductors (Chips) – The brain of AI systems
• Data Centers – The factories of the digital age
• Robotics – Automation of labor
• Nuclear & Energy – Baseload power for AI grids
• Drones – Logistics, defense, automation
• Space infrastructure – Satellites, launch systems, orbital data

AI is software.
But software scales on hardware.

Elon Musk on the real boss battles of humanity:

“The challenge is overcoming bureaucracy. I think bureaucracy is perhaps the penultimate boss battle

The ultimate boss battle is defeating entropy, which physics tells us we cannot defeat

The second hardest battle is defeating bureaucracy”

Bureaucracy is not just annoying paperwork
It’s literally the #2 greatest obstacle to human progress - right behind the unbreakable laws of physics

This is why Elon hates red tape so much

AI adoption is currently constrained by power, compute & data center capacity.

Because training + inference are extremely energy-intensive, the markets are rewarding the companies building the infrastructure that makes AI compute possible.
