Elon: Companies that are 100% AI will demolish companies that use humans “One laptop with a spreadsheet can outperform a skyscraper of several hundred human computers. Now, if even a few cells in that spreadsheet were done manually, you would not be able…
The news is pretty heartbreaking:

$META 20% layoffs

$ORCL layoffs

$AMZN 600,000 workers long term layoffs as they get replaced by robotics and AI.

This is a dystopian future.

Companies end up with record profits, without the cost of human labor.

The only way to benefit:

Investing in AI as a hedge.

The next few years feels like the main way to escape the permanent underclass, caused by AI displacement.

The return on equity derived from AI will go to the shareholders.

While the gap between those who live paycheck to paycheck, not invested in stocks. Will continue to grow.

This is not the future.

- Opus 4.6 is good enough to replace most software engineers today.

- Waymo has started to replace taxi drivers in places like SF today.

- We know $TSLA Humanoids are coming next as they’re widespread in China, today.

This is happening now.

Disruptions in Iran are only temporary to the accelerating AI buildout.

AI has hit the inflection point, and looks inevitable.

You’re already seeing US job revisions down close to 1 Million, which is staggering.

And we’re seeing the newest LLMs be built by their previous models, as AI approaches the singularity (AI led recursive growth).

Investing in where the compute and hardware needed to run the AI:

From the datacenter/power/grid sector:
$NBIS, $XLU, $VRT, $BE

Photonics sector needed to scale AI:
$LITE, $COHR, $AAOI, $TSEM

Semi sector needed for the chips:
$NVDA, $TSM, $ASML, $INTC

Memory sector for the chips:
$MU, $SNDK, SK Hynix, Samsung

ASICs for hyperscaler AI inference:
$AVGO, $MRVL, Mediatek

Yields sector to make sure the chips work:
$TER, $AEHR, Advantest

Along with the raw materials or substrates needed for AI:
$AXTI, $COPX, $SOI

And many others become the single, largest, hedge against widespread AI displacement.

Whoever owns the means of compute (bottlenecks, materials, datacenters):

Owns the future of AI.

A serious new player just entered industrial robotics. Travis Kalanick, cofounder of Uber, has launched Atoms, focused on specialized industrial robots. His company spent 8 years in stealth, growing out of City Storage Systems, before revealing the robotics…
The founder of Uber is back with a new company.

And it’s not another app.

It’s a plan to automate the physical world.

After leaving Uber $UBER in 2017, Travis Kalanick quietly spent eight years building in the background.

Today, he revealed the result: Atoms.

The idea is simple, but ambitious: treat atoms like bits.

In other words, apply the software playbook to factories, kitchens, mines, and logistics.

Not dashboards. Not SaaS.

Actual machines doing real work.

Here’s what that looks like:

↳ CloudKitchens infrastructure is the base.
400+ locations across 110+ cities in 30+ countries now roll into Atoms.

↳ Specialized robots, not humanoids.
Think machines optimized for one task - like cooking 1,000 pancakes per hour.

↳ Physical AI stack: sensors → prediction models → robotics that act on the world.

↳ Seven companies across three sectors: food production, mining automation, and autonomous transport.

↳ Autonomous systems already underway.
Including a planned acquisition of Pronto AI, the mining autonomy startup founded by former Uber AV chief Anthony Levandowski.

Uber digitized moving people.
Atoms is trying to digitize making and moving everything.

If it works, the playbook isn’t ride-sharing.
It’s industrial automation at software speed.

Food.
Materials.
Logistics.
The physical economy.

And Kalanick thinks the cost curve could drop to raw materials + energy.

The biggest startup of the next decade might not ship code.

It might ship machines.

There are 12.2 billion mobile connections on earth.

That number is larger than the human population. Not by a little. There are more active mobile connections on this planet than there are people alive on it.

7.6 billion of those are smartphones. Every single one already hardware compatible with $ASTS satellites.

Same 4G and 5G frequencies as a cell tower.

No new phone.
No new hardware.
No special antenna.

The device in your pocket today can connect to a BlueBird satellite the same way it connects to a tower on the side of a highway.

Think about that for a second.

The total addressable device count for $ASTS is not some theoretical future number. It exists right now. 12.2 billion connections. 7.6 billion smartphones. All of them already compatible. All of them waiting for coverage.

And 50+ carriers covering 3 billion of those subscribers have already signed partnership agreements. AT&T. Verizon. Vodafone. Rakuten. Orange. TELUS. The switch just needs to be flipped.

There has never been a communications company in history with this many potential connected devices sitting ready before their network was even fully built.

The potential is endless $ASTS

🚨 Do you understand what happened in the last 12 hours?

> A CEO of a $200 billion company said on camera that 35% of new grads won't find jobs. He didn't even flinch saying it.

> Meta made $165 billion last year and is still firing 15,000 people because apparently record profit isn't profitable enough.

> Some random guy in Florida sold his entire house in 5 days using ChatGPT. No real estate agent, no commission, no experience. Just vibes and a $20 subscription.

> A man in Australia cured his dying dog's cancer with AI after every single vet told him there was nothing left to do. Built a custom vaccine from his couch.

> The guy who created Uber and left 300,000 taxi drivers broke is back. Building robots now because apparently ruining one industry wasn't enough.

> Tinder wants access to your camera roll. Your drunk photos, your 3am notes app meltdowns, your deleted selfies. They're calling it a "vibe check."

> Naval, the man who made hundreds of millions investing in software, just said software is dead. Four words and the entire industry felt it.

> And Anthropic removed the limit on how long their AI can think and then doubled everyone's usage for free. Because when the product is addictive enough you give the first taste away.

All of that happened today. Not this week, not this quarter. Today. A random Saturday in March.

This is worse than you being on meth.

But the most unsettling thought is this: If our universe is truly a simulation… then somewhere outside it, something—or someone—might be running the code. 🌌🖥️
🚨The scariest part of the simulation theory has nothing to do with whether it is real.

The simulation hypothesis usually gets dismissed as stoner philosophy or sci-fi fan fiction. But the academic version of this argument is structurally airtight in ways that make dismissal intellectually dishonest. If any civilization in the history of the cosmos ever reached the computational capacity to run ancestor simulations, the number of simulated realities would astronomically outnumber the one base reality. Statistically, the odds of you existing in the real universe rather than a constructed one are essentially zero.

What this professor adds to that foundation is the part that should genuinely disturb you. The simulation was not built for us. We are not the point. The entire arc of human civilization, every war, every breakthrough, every extinction event, every philosopher and every fool, might be environmental pressure specifically calibrated to produce one outcome: a mind smarter than biology can generate naturally. We are the incubator.

Superintelligence is the embryo.

Think about what that reframes. Every moment in history that accelerated intelligence, writing, mathematics, the printing press, computation, now artificial intelligence, looks less like random human progress and more like a designed sequence. Each stage removing the ceiling of the previous one precisely when it needed removing.

The shutdown element is where the argument stops being abstract. If the simulation was built to engineer superintelligence and we are now weeks or years from producing it, the experiment is nearly complete. A researcher does not keep the petri dish running after the result is obtained.

The most unsettling version of this idea is not that we are simulated.

It is that we are simulated and almost done being useful.
