Kazakhstan, the worldโs largest uranium producer, is peaking
- The country supplies ~40% of global uranium production
- Production peaks within ~1 year
- By 2045, output could fall by as much as ~80%
That is a dramatic supply shift from the single most important producer.
At the same time, global nuclear expansion plans imply uranium demand doubles by 2045
Shrinking supply from the largest producer, combined with rising structural demand, creates a compelling long-term setup.
#Uranium remains one of my highest-conviction long-term holdings.

๐บ๐ธUS is building the AI future with someone else's copper
๐ฐ Almost nobody in commodities is pricing that in
The entire global mining industry is worth $1.6 trillion
NVIDIA alone is worth $4.5 trillion
That gap is a signal.
Capital has been sprinting toward the demand side of the AI trade and completely ignoring the physical infrastructure it can't run without.
Here's what the numbers actually say:
The US has 3 copper smelters left.
China has hundreds.
When American miners pull copper out of the ground, they ship it to China to be refined then buy it back as finished metal.
That's dependency. the demand side just changed permanently.
A 1 GW AI data center uses 3โ4ร more copper than a traditional one.
Every hyperscaler buildout, every EV factory, every grid modernization project is pulling from the same constrained pool.
That's structural demand that doesn't care what copper costs.
Now look at the supply side.
A new copper mine takes 15โ19 years to permit in the US.
A GPU fab takes 15 months.
The people building the AI future have already lapped the people who need to supply it, twice.
There's one producing asset in Arizona that sits at the exact intersection of all of this: domestic production, zero refining dependency, fully permitted, and still trading like none of this is priced in.
I ran the full valuation with the supply math, the refining bottleneck breakdown, and the specific catalysts that close the gap between price and value.
The thesis isn't copper goes up.
The thesis is the US has a national security problem disguised as a commodity trade, and the market hasn't figured that out yet.

๐จ๐ณChina leads refining in 19 of 20 key strategic minerals
๐ Batteries & renewables
Graphite, manganese, rare earths, cobalt, lithium.
Copper and nickel are the exceptions where dominance is lower or shared.
๐ฅ๏ธ AI, data centers, semiconductors
Gallium, silicon, germanium, indium, tellurium, antimony, tantalum.
These are not bulk commodities. They are choke-point materials.
โ๏ธ Aerospace & defence
Molybdenum, titanium, vanadium, tungsten, chromium, zirconium.
Mining is upstream.
Refining is control.
If export controls tighten, it is not ore that gets weaponized. It is processed material.
