We broke up because we were both at fault. I was always busy, so I kept leaving him with my childhood bestf because I didn’t want him to feel lonely. But he was lonely from being left behind by me all the time, and eventually... he started spending his days with my bestf. Somewhere along the way, they developed forbidden feelings for each other and started seeing each other behind my back. I couldn’t accept it, but I felt that perhaps this was simply how things were meant to be. So, rather than holding on to a relationship that would only continue hurting both of us, I chose to let it go.
