British Prime Minister Keir Starmer affirmed last night the Palestinian people's "inalienable right" to a state of their own, calling the situation in Gaza an "unspeakable and indefensible" humanitarian catastrophe.

His remarks follow growing pressure from Labour MPs and a pledge by French President Macron to recognise Palestine at the UN in September.

For about two hours, our Freedom Flotilla boat's communications were interrupted and drones were observed near the boat, raising serious concerns of potential attack.

Connection has now been re-established. 'Handala' is continuing its mission and is currently less than 349 nautical miles from Gaza.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our alert! Please keep your eyes on 'Handala' and on Palestine, and continue pressuring your governments and media to break the illegal siege on Gaza and allow 'Handala' to deliver the aid we carry.

Day 6: Gabrielle Cathala, on the 'Handala'.

French Parliamentarian Gabrielle reports on the recent drones sightings.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the Director of Nursing at Nasser Medical Complex warned that Gaza is approaching a wave of mass deaths among vulnerable groups of starving Palestinians due to the famine caused by Israel’s blockade.
At least 10 Palestinians were shot dead and many more injured by the Israeli army while waiting for desperately needed food aid near the Israeli crossing of Zikim in northern Gaza.
A team member of the Handala vessel, bound for Gaza, told Al Jazeera on Saturday that Israeli drones were flying over the vessel and that they were preparing for a possible Israeli raid.
According to Israeli media reports, Army Minister Israel Katz met with Druze leader Sheikh Muwafaq Tarif on Saturday, pledging urgent medical and humanitarian aid to the Druze community in Syria.

Following recent clashes in southern Syria, Israel intervened militarily on behalf of the Druze. Katz stated, "We are committed to our Druze brothers in Israel and will continue to protect their Druze brothers in Syria."

After Assad's ousting, Israeli officials have openly called for dismantling Syria to expand their occupation of additional Syrian territory.

Freedom Flotilla Nears Gaza Amid Threats of Israeli Interception

Howida Arraf, a member of the Steering Committee of the Freedom Flotilla, told Al Jazeera that the “Handala” humanitarian ship is currently 100 nautical miles from Gaza, and the crew has received warnings that Israeli forces may attempt to intercept it.

Arraf stated that Western governments are complicit with Israel in the starvation of Gaza’s population, stressing that intercepting a humanitarian vessel has no legal or moral justification.

She affirmed the mission’s resolve, declaring:

“We will not stop. We are not afraid of what awaits us.”
NEW: The 'Handala' ship from the 'Freedom Flotilla Coalition' is reportedly being intercepted by the Israeli navy close to the coast of Gaza

Activists onboard have reported an unknown ship approaching them, as well as drones. They are livestreaming their journey.

This marks the seventh attempt by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition after the 'Madleen' was attacked, seized in international waters, and the activists were arrested and abused.
