Hamas reports ‘fierce’ fighting in Gaza City
The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian group, says its fighters have been clashing with Israeli forces in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City since the morning.
The Brigades said it attacked a military bulldozer, fired a mortar shell at a tank and targeted a gathering of troops in the area.
Over the past two weeks, Palestinian groups have claimed dozens of attacks against Israeli forces in Gaza City, undercutting Israel’s claim that it dismantled Hamas’s “military infrastructure” in northern Gaza weeks ago.

Islamic Jihad claims ‘complex’ attack against Israeli forces in Gaza City
The al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad, says it rigged an unexploded ordnance dropped during an Israeli air raid and used it to target an Israeli force in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City.
The group added that the “complex” attack left members of the Israeli unit dead or injured.
