The Ministry of Health in Gaza:
- For the second year in a row, women in Gaza are being deprived of early detection protocols and programs for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer.
- It is impossible to determine the effectiveness of the applied preventive protocols due to the destruction of primary care centers and diagnostic imaging departments.
- Women who were diagnosed with the disease before and during the war do not have access to specialized treatment and medical follow-up.
- Cancer medications are among the most affected services due to the crisis of drug and medical shortages, especially for breast cancer.
- The decline in proper and integrated nutrition levels has had catastrophic effects on women suffering from the disease.
- The health system in Gaza lacks prevention, control, early detection methods, and case monitoring, which contradicts international health trends.
- A number of women with breast cancer are in dire need of radiation therapy, which is not available in the Gaza Strip, and they are denied travel abroad to receive it.
- The closure of crossings, ban on medications, destruction of specialized treatment centers, and deterioration of economic and living conditions exacerbate the severity of the health situation for many cases.
