نزل المنفذ من الحافلة وما أن دخل مركزاً تجارياً حتى أشهر سكينه وردد صيحات (الله أكبر) وقام بطعن عدد من المستوطنين قبل أن يصل عناصر أمن الاحتلال.
بعد أن وصلت مجموعة كبيرة من قوات أمن الاحتلال من شرطة و"شاباك" وجنود فتحوا النار بكثافة باتجاه المنفذ وأصابوا بالخطأ مستوطنا كان مسلحاً حيث ظنوا أنه شريك لمنفذ العملية.
أسفرت العملية عن مقتل مستوطن رميا بالرصاص فيما أصيب 3 مستوطنين آخرين بجراح خطيرة بعد تعرضهم لعدد كبير من الطعنات وارتقى المنفذ شهيداً بعدها.
شرطة الاحتلال و"الشاباك" قالوا إن هوية منفذ العملية لا تزال مجهولة.
