This morning, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, affiliated with Hezbollah, criticized the Lebanese army and General Joseph Aoun, commander of Lebanese armed forces. The article wrote that Aoun was bowing down to the United States, particularly regarding the release of arrested Israeli spy in Dahiya, Beirut, and stated, "Is this the sovereignty you promised?"

Aoun underwent "counter-terrorism training" in the United States in 2008. General Aoun is also U.S.-backed future candidate for the presidency of Lebanon.
