Photographer recalls killing of his daughter in front of his eyes in Gaza City
The photographer collaborating with UNRWA said he went to the building where his family was sheltering to take them to the west of the enclave, following the Israeli evacuation order.
“I was standing on the other side of the road next to my car, which I parked, waiting for them to cross the street. Salma and her sister Sarah ran towards me, and suddenly, heavy gunfire broke out, and I saw how Salma was hit in the neck in front of my eyes,” he said.
“Salma was killed, while Sarah, her nine-year-old sister, miraculously escaped death when a bullet pierced her jacket. My three-year-old son Omar repeatedly wonders why his sister was killed.”
