German activist and steering committee member Yasemin Acar said the Global Sumud Flotilla is “on the final leg of its mission.”

According to organisers’ calculations, the flotilla is nearing the area where the Madleen ship from the previous Freedom Flotilla was intercepted by Israeli forces.

The flotilla is currently accompanied by an Italian navy vessel, while a Spanish naval ship is also expected to join shortly.

Additional volunteer vessels are set to reinforce the mission before reaching Gaza, including The Conscience, the largest ship to have participated in the earlier Freedom Flotilla.

Labour party delegates will vote on an emergency motion declaring that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and demanding a full arms embargo on Monday.

The Global Sumud Flotilla convoy is now about 355 nautical miles from Gaza.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) says it has evacuated 190 patients from the Gaza Strip for treatment, in coordination with the World Health Organization.
