LIVE UPDATES: GAZA GENOCIDE

GAZA CITY – Israeli terror attack have targeted two UNRWA-run schools sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza City today, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 people.

This comes as the Israeli occupation army seems to be entering a second phase of its invasion of the city. Despite relentless bombardment and occupation forced evacuation orders, Gaza’s Government Media Office reports that more than 1.3 million Palestinians, including 350,000 children, remain in the north.

The scale of destruction is vast. Officials state Israeli occupation forces have caused the complete destruction of over 1,600 multi-storey buildings and the severe damage of 2,000 more. Furthermore, 13,000 tents housing displaced persons have been destroyed.

For those who heeded evacuation orders to the coastal area of al-Mawasi, designated a "humanitarian zone" by Israel, the reality is bleak. Faraj Ashour, a displaced Palestinian there, told, “It’s all lies. Al-Mawasi offers no safety.”

The human cost of the conflict continues to rise. The death toll in Israel's genocide on Gaza has reached at least 64,803 killed and 164,264 wounded since October 2023.

DIPLOMATIC FRONT: RECOGNITION AND TENSIONS

NEW YORK – In a significant diplomatic move, the UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly endorsed a resolution calling for a two-state solution. The vote passed with 142 in favour and 10 against.

Meanwhile, in the wake of this week's deadly Israeli terror attack on Doha, Qatar’s Prime Minister met with US President Donald Trump in New York. The discussions are seen as critical to de-escalating regional tensions, with analysts warning the 'Gulf region is at risk' of a broader conflict.

This follows a question on many minds: Which countries has Israel attacked in the last 72 hours? The strike on Qatar confirms the expansion of the conflict beyond Gaza's borders.

WEST BANK AND SOLIDARITY

OCCUPIED WEST BANK – Violence continues in the occupied territory. Israeli forces shot and injured a 16-year-old Palestinian during a raid. In a separate incident, Israeli settlers burned houses in a Bedouin community near the village of Jabaa, northeast of Jerusalem.

Amid the ongoing siege, international solidarity efforts persist. Activist Bruno Rocha aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla said the mission is "completely undeterred." He cited massive demonstrations in Brazil as a source of support, highlighting the growing global movement for Palestine.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Dr. Moneer Al-Boursh, Director General of the Palestinian Health Ministry, warned that Israel is carrying out full-scale genocide, targeting civilians of all ages and destroying vital supplies. He said hospitals are left with little option but amputations, while starvation victims keep rising despite the UN’s recognition of the crisis.
