Huda Ammori, co-founder of Palestine Action, says UK ministers are making false and defamatory claims by calling the group β€œviolent,” when this contradicts the government’s own intelligence.

Court documents from the Joint Terrorism Analysis Center show the group does not advocate violence against people and that most of its actions, such as spraying paint on warplanes or occupying arms factories, would not be classified as terrorism.

This comes after 532 people, half of them over 60, were arrested under the Terrorism Act for allegedly supporting Palestine Action, sparking criticism that peaceful protest is being criminalised.

Downing Street and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper insist the group is violent, citing property damage. But campaigners, including Defend Our Juries, say ministers are misleading the public, warning that defending Palestine Action could result in a 14-year prison sentence.

Israel’s Killing of Al Jazeera Journalists in Gaza Sparks Global Outrage

The recent Israeli terror attack in Gaza City killed seven people, including five Al Jazeera staff members, among them prominent correspondent Anas al-Sharif. This attack has been widely condemned by the United Nations, the European Union, media rights groups, and press freedom advocates as a blatant assault on journalistic freedom. Experts suggest Israel’s motivation was to suppress the narrative and truthful coverage of the war in Gaza, which local journalists have courageously maintained despite immense risks. The Gaza Government Media Office has accused Israeli military liaison COGAT of attempting to cover up the humanitarian crisis, including systematic starvation in Gaza. Journalists in Gaza vow to continue reporting despite the fear and sorrow caused by these killings.

Gaza Genocide

The Gaza Health Ministry reports a continuing rise in hunger-related deaths, with 227 people having starved to death during the conflict. A recent death of a 30-year-old man from malnutrition was confirmed by Nasser Hospital. Over the past 24 hours, hospitals in Gaza have received 100 casualties and 513 injured, adding to the staggering toll since October 2023, which now exceeds 61,000 deaths and 154,000 injuries.
