UN special rapporteur calls for global medical boycott of Israel
Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on Palestine, has urged medical professionals around the world to sever ties with Israel as a direct response to the destruction of Gazaโs healthcare system.
โI urge medical professionals worldwide to pursue the severance of all ties with Israel as a concrete way to forcefully denounce Israelโs full destruction of the Palestinian healthcare system in Gaza, a critical tool of its ongoing genocide,โ - Albanese
Albaneseโs statement comes as the ongoing conflict continues to devastate Palestinian infrastructure, with Gazaโs medical facilities being severely affected by Israeli military forces.
Her comments reflect growing international concern about the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where hospitals and clinics have been targeted and overwhelmed by relentless violence.
A lack of essential medical supplies, infrastructure damage and the loss of life have left Gazaโs health sector struggling to cope.

Palestinian Authorityโs raids on Jenin appeal to Israeli, Western interests
The Palestinian Authority (PA) is cracking down on resistance groups in the Jenin refugee camp in what experts say is an attempt to restore its limited authority in the occupied West Bank and persuade incoming United States President Donald Trump that it can be a useful security partner.
However, the crackdown has earned it condemnation from many Palestinians, especially after the Saturday night killing of 21-year-old journalist Shatha Sabbagh, who had been reporting from Jenin and whose family said she was killed by PA gunfire.
Since the start of the PA raids, they have been criticised as serving the interests of Israel over supporting the Palestinian struggle for freedom and self-determination.
โOver the past few years, the PA has lost control over the West Bank, and I imagine it is trying to claw back control to prove its worth to its handlers โ Israel and the United States,โ said Omar Rahman, an expert on Israel-Palestine with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, a think tank in Doha, Qatar.

โParents are terrified as their children freeze to deathโ
The Gaza Health Ministry has said the number of Palestinian deaths due to hypothermia has risen to seven.
People here are freezing and shaking because of the very cold weather.
Particularly, the ones in tents in al-Mawasi, which is very close to the beach, are intensely suffering from the weather.
We are talking about Palestinians who have been displaced for more than 14 months.
They use the same tents despite the changing weather.
There are no other types and it is very expensive to buy nylon, tools or equipment to cover tents.
It is also hard to acquire winter clothes, blankets, etc.
Parents are terrified, with their children freezing to death, in addition to dying because of starvation and ongoing air attacks.
