UCLA students stage graduation walk out to protest Israel’s war on Gaza

Dozens of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) graduate students staged a walk-out of their graduation ceremony to protest Israel’s war on Gaza.
Wikipedia war: Fierce row erupts over Israel’s deadly Nuseirat assault

A fierce “edit war” has broken out on Wikipedia over a page dedicated to a deadly Israeli raid in the Nuseirat refugee camp near Deir el-Balah in central Gaza on the morning of June 8.

The bloody attack – ostensibly to free four Israeli captives held there – killed nearly 300 displaced people and injured more than 700, overwhelming the nearby Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Now, the Israeli raid has become the focus of a heated editing dispute on Wikipedia, which has been forced to restrict editing access to the page dedicated to the incident.

This is what we know about the creation of the Wikipedia page and the spiralling online war it has triggered:

Who created the Wikipedia page about Nuseirat and why?

Wikipedia allows editors to remain anonymous with their names and countries of origin hidden. However, it does not guarantee that an editor’s identity cannot be discovered by means outside its control.

After its creation, the article on the Nuseirat raid was edited 627 times by 103 users in just one week. This is an unusually high number of changes made to a single article on Wikipedia. By comparison, the Wikipedia page about the October 7 Hamas attacks has been edited 1,705 times by 368 people over the course of eight months.

As is common practice when an “edit war” breaks out, Wikipedia administrators quickly locked the page, allowing access to only a few select editors. For anyone else trying to access the page to make changes to it, a notice appears stating “only extended confirmed users and administrators can edit it”.

A registered editor becomes an “extended confirmed user” once their account has existed for 30 days and once they have made at least 500 edits.

What is an ‘edit war’?

An edit war happens when two or more editors persistently change each other’s contributions to an article, causing a repetitive cycle of reversions. This is also known as “vandalism” by users of Wikipedia and includes the “deliberately disruptive or malicious editing” of any page. This might include deleting content or changing it so it becomes intentionally biased, libellous, offensive or degrading.

According to Wikipedia’s neutrality policy, pages should be written from a neutral point of view “without editorial bias”. It operates a set of monitoring tools that can alert it if an edit war appears to have broken out.

Why did Wikipedia freeze the Nuseirat page?

While most Wikipedia pages are open to any registered user to edit, an exception is made for certain articles that are locked or “protected” to prevent “disruptive editing on controversial pages”, the Wikipedia homepage explains. When pages are locked, the new settings limit and slow down the number of edits made to the pages.

There are various levels of locking. Both the Nuseirat pages have been “fully locked”, which means only Wikipedia extended confirmed users and administrators may access it.

Editors trying to access either page are currently being redirected to the discussion page.

Students at the University of Manchester are determined to resume their Gaza solidarity encampment next semester, demanding the university cut ties with the Israeli occupation.
So it turns out that Elons trip to Israel wasn't just for kosher theater and an IDF propaganda tour.

A secret meeting took place while he was there that went virtually unreported by any news media outlets.

In attendance was Netanyahu, Musk's tour organizer, investor Omri Casspi, Brigadier General Danny Gold, Head of the Israeli Directorate of Defense Research & Development and one of the developers of Iron Dome, Aleph venture capital funds partner Michael Eisenberg, and Israeli cybersecurity company CHEQ CEO Guy Tytunovich who is ex-israeli intelligence unit 8200.

The six men talked about technology in the service of Israel's defense, dealing with fake content and anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli comments, and the use by non-democratic countries of bots as part of campaigns to change perceptions, including on the X platform.

The solution Musk was presented was the Israeli unicorn CHEQ, a company founded by ex-Israeli intelligence unit 8200 CEO Guy Tytunovich that combats bots and fake users.

Following the meeting, Elon signed an agreement with cheQ, and apparently, the reason for the quick closing of the deal was Elons "direct involvement" with the company.

Now. What they won't tell you.

Israel is primarily responsible for the creation of bots. There currently exists dozens of ex-Israeli intelligence firms whose sole purpose is perception management, social media influencing/manipulation, disinformation campaigns, psychological operations, opposition research, and honey traps.

They create state of art, multi layer, AI avatars that are virtually indistinguishable from a real human online. They infiltrate target audiences with these elaborately crafted social-media personas and spread misleading information through websites meant to mimic news portals. They secretly manipulate public opinion across app social media platforms.

The applications of this technology are endless, and it has been used for character assassination, disruption of activism/protest, creating social upheaval/civil unrest, swaying elections, and toppling governments.

These companies are all founded by ex-Israeli intelligence and members of unit 8200. When they leave their service with the Israeli government, they are backed by hundreds of billions of dollars through Israeli venture capital groups tied to the Israeli government.

These companies utilize the technology and skills learned during their time served with Israeli intelligence and are an extension of the Israeli government that operates in the private sector.

In doing so, they operate with impunity across all geographical borders and outside the bounds of the law. The Israeli government is forbidden by law to spy on US citizens, but "ex" Israeli intelligence has no such limitations, and no laws currently exist to stop them.

Now back to X and Elon Musk.

Elon met with these people in secret to discuss how to use X in service of Israel's defense.

Elon hired an ex-Israeli intelligence firm to combat the bots.... that were created by another ex-israeli intelligence firm.

Elon hired an ex-israeli intelligence firm to verify your identity and collect your facial biometric data.

Do you see the problem yet?

Israel now has end to end control over X. Israel can conduct psychological operations and create social disinfo/influence campaigns on X with impunity. They now have facial biometric data from millions of people that can be used to create and populate these AI generated avatars.

They can manipulate public opinion, influence congressmen and senators, disrupt online movements, manipulate the algorithm to silence dissenting voices against Israel, and they can sway the US elections.

When the company that was hired to combat the bots is also Israeli intelligence...

Who is going to stop them?

X is the greatest honeypot of all time

Israeli intelligence uses bots to manipulate algorithms, create disinformation campaigns, and conduct psychological operations.

Israeli intelligence verifies X users' identity. (Information that is used in the creation of the bots to populate AI avatars with multi layer profiles)

Israeli intelligence is tasked to remove bots from the platform. (Aka Protect their bots from removal)

There is no such thing as "ex" israeli intelligence. This is how they operate with impunity across all geographical borders outside the scope of all existing laws.

Bravo elon musk. You are Israeli wet dream and make Epstein look like an amateur in the spy business.

The Egyptian spy who saved Israel

Egyptian spy Ashraf Marwan died mysteriously in 2007 when he fell from his London apartment, the cause of his fall has never been determined yet.

In his past, he was a key factor that enabled Israel to turn its initial defeat into victory in 1973, on both the Egyptian and Syrian fronts. The narrative Bar-Joseph builds clearly shows Marwan as Mossad’s hero and a prized intelligence asset, but also emphasises that to his own country, Marwan was nevertheless a traitor – a man who sold secrets to the enemy in a time of war.

Although Marwan, code named “Angel”, only alerted the Mossad 24 hours before the Arab armies’ surprise attack began, his previous information on the Egyptian military’s war planning and leadership deliberations made Egypt “transparent” to Israel at the time of war.

As for the Israeli intelligence failure in that war, its military intelligence, Bar-Joseph argues, had placed itself into a mental box regarding the conditions through which they forecast Egypt would attack Israel.

It was a conflict between then military intelligence chief Major General Eli Zeira – who thought in terms of his organisation’s paradigm of war, and thus had doubts about Marwan’s intelligence and motivations – and the director of the Mossad, Zvi Zamir, who trusted Marwan’s information.

He started his career as an Israeli spy in 1970 when he called the Israeli embassy in London offering his services to sell Egypt’s top secrets. While it took the Israelis some time to make sure he was no double agent, after his information proved reliable, they began to fully trust him. He worked as an Israeli spy for more than 30 years, until 1998.

Marwan’s services in the Yom Kippur War were some of the most important for Israel. After the war, the Mossad rewarded him with a $100,000-cash bonus in appreciation for the advance warning of the impending strike. While his actions ultimately saved many Israeli lives, they guaranteed the death of many of his own countrymen.

Egypt

Camp David strategy:
This official Egyptian indifference, contrasted against widespread public anger, aligns with the regime’s stance since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on 7 October.

The regime’s strategy revolves around the Camp David Accords, signed with Israel in 1978 - its sole strategic framework across the military, political and diplomatic arenas. This strategy has consistently benefited the regime, which has exploited it fully.

Since the presidency of Anwar Sadat, Egyptian regimes have internalised the idea that their importance to the American empire lies in maintaining relations with Israel. This idea has deepened under the Sisi regime, which has benefited from this arrangement since day one and continues to do so.

American support extends beyond its annual $1.3bn in aid to Egypt, to include indirect support through international institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and allies in the Gulf and Europe. The latest case in point was the IMF rescue package to prevent the regime’s economic collapse.

Western complicity

This equation might have been a key factor in facilitating the current presidential term of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, despite severe and widespread electoral violations across Egypt. These violations went largely uncriticised in the West, especially in the US, and many other violations have also been ignored.

To maintain this relationship, Cairo acts as a mediator in negotiations between Israel and resistance factions, striving to end the war as quickly as possible by any means. The fear is that worsening conditions could increase pressure on Egypt or affect the peace agreement, especially with regards to the relocation of Palestinians to the Sinai.

Sisi’s equation suggests that the democratic alternative to his regime would be hostile towards Israel, representing a popular will that sees itself as part of the battle against Israel. How long Egypt going to protect Israel?
