⚠️ Important Update — META Platforms

Meta's in-app browsers on Instagram, Facebook and Threads now block all methods to open links in the external browser.

To make sure your visitors don't get stuck and you don't lose any clicks, we've automatically disabled deeplinks on all Meta platforms. Your links now redirect directly within the app, no interruption for your visitors.

No action needed on your end. Everything is already handled.

We're actively working on an alternative solution and will keep you posted.

📢 Update — New Option for Meta Deeplink Block

Following this week's Meta update, we've built a new option called Strict Deeplink.

When enabled, visitors coming from Instagram, Facebook or Threads will see a quick prompt after clicking a button, guiding them to open the link in their external browser before continuing to the destination. Meta platforms are auto-detected so it only triggers where needed.

We didn't rush this one out. We spent a few days testing internally with real traffic first. The results are promising but vary depending on your audience, which is why we're making this fully optional.

Turn it on, run it for a couple of days, and let your analytics tell you if it's worth keeping.

📢 Our Approach to the Meta Deeplink Block on iOS

Since Meta blocked Safari deeplinks, some started redirecting iOS users to Chrome as a workaround. We looked at the data and made a different call.

Chrome on iOS represents around 18% of global iOS traffic. On our platform over the last 7 days, it's just 2.3% of total visits.

For the majority of your iOS visitors, opening Chrome means opening a browser they don't use as their default. That's not a fix, that's added friction. And friction kills conversions.

⚠️ But here's the real problem.

Meta didn't block deeplinks by accident. Forcing users into Chrome is actively circumventing their restrictions. This is exactly the kind of behavior that gets your links killed, your pages shadowbanned, and your accounts banned. Permanently. All of that for a workaround that serves 2% of your traffic.

We'd rather protect your accounts and build solutions that last.

🔒 That's why we shipped Strict Deeplink — an optional prompt that guides visitors to open links in their external browser, without assuming which one they use. No policy violation, no risk.
