🇪🇬🇮🇱 Egypt Allows Israel-Bound Ship Loaded with Bomb Materials to Dock in Alexandria

Egypt, citing its adherence to the 1888 Constantinople Agreement, allowed the MV Kathrin—a German ship under a Portuguese flag and reportedly loaded with eight containers of the powerful explosive RDX—to dock in Alexandria. This explosive material, more potent than TNT, is allegedly en route to Israel.

MV Kathrin faced multiple refusals at ports in Namibia, Malaysia, Angola, Slovenia, and Malta. However, Egyptian authorities greenlit its passage, claiming their hands are tied by international agreements allowing “freedom of navigation” through the Suez Canal, regardless of a vessel’s destination or cargo.

BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) and Amnesty International have sounded alarms over Egypt’s decision, with video evidence circulating of a warship flying Israeli and Egyptian flags.

🇹🇷🇮🇱 Turkish Activists Storm Explosive-Laden Ship Bound for Israel

Last night, members of the Anatolian Youth Association took bold action, storming the controversial MV Kathrin — the same ship laden with bomb-making materials and bound for Israel. Docked temporarily at Istanbul's Haydarpasa Port, the activists managed to stage a sit-in on board, demanding an end to arms shipments that fuel violence in the region.

Turkish students led the demonstration, chanting for peace and denouncing the deadly cargo destined for Israel. The sit-in gained momentum before authorities intervened, leading to arrests of several organizers.

Under heavy pressure, MV Kathrin has now departed Istanbul
