Israel has begun intercepting the Islamist Turkish-led “Global Sumud Flotilla” that departed from Turkey toward the Gaza Strip on May 14, with Israeli naval forces boarding vessels. The convoy consisted of 54 boats carrying around 500 anti-Israel and pro-Hamas activists from 45 countries. Israeli forces already took control of at least 23 vessels and detained around 100 activists.
IDF also jammed flotilla radio communications by broadcasting Britney Spears’ “Oops!... I Did It Again.”
While these people describe the mission as humanitarian and aimed at breaking the blockade, many of the boats are named after Arab villages abandoned during the 1948 War of Independence or locations inside present-day Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. Many of these settlements are ancient Canaanite and Hebrew cities. Easy to see that from the organizers' perspective the goal is not really humanitarian aid in any form, but rather "the liberation of palestine." They hide nothing.
