⚠️ AGEING JAGUAR FIGHTER JET: The aging fleet, now over four decades old, has been plagued by technical issues, leading to multiple crashes

⚠️ JAGUAR CRASHING HISTORY:

➡️July 9, 2025 – Churu, Rajasthan:
A Jaguar fighter jet crashed in Bhanoda village, Ratangarh Tehsil, Churu district, near the Pakistan border during a routine sortie.

➡️ April 2, 2025 – Jamnagar, Gujarat: A twin-seater Jaguar crashed in an open field in Suvarda village, 12 km from Jamnagar Air Force Station, during a night training mission. A technical malfunction prompted both pilots to eject. Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav died due to injuries, while the second pilot, a Group Captain, sustained injuries (including a fractured leg) and was reported stable. A Court of Inquiry was initiated.

➡️ March 7, 2025 – Panchkula, Haryana: A Jaguar crashed in a hilly forest area near Raipur Rani, near the Haryana-Himachal Pradesh border, after taking off from Ambala Air Force Station for a routine training sortie. The pilot ejected safely after steering the aircraft away from populated areas, avoiding civilian casualties.

The 🇮🇳IAF is the only air force still operating the Jaguar, with around 120 aircraft across six squadrons as of 2025. However, the aging fleet, now over four decades old

🇪🇨Ecuador: The Ecuadorian Air Force retired its Jaguars in the early 2000s.

🇳🇪Nigeria: The Nigerian Air Force operated a small number of Jaguars in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are no longer in service.
