Zechariah 9:17

I 100% stand against the teaching that “Mystery Babylon” could be Jerusalem because it goes against God’s word.

There are many scriptures that prove this… but here is the short and firm answer.

Mystery Babylon is destroyed and will NEVER be a city again.

Revelation 18:21
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

In VERY STARK CONTRAST... Jerusalem will NEVER be destroyed and will continue to be a city FOREVER.

Jeremiah 31:35-40
35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. 37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. 38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner. 39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath. 40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

1 John 2:3-4
3 And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Well, this is very important... What is His commandment and how do we keep it? Just a little later on John tells us in chapter 3.

1 John 3:23-24
23 And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
24 And He that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.

Again, this is very important... How then do we receive the Holy Spirit?

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.

So then brothers and sisters, please understand that SALVATION comes by grace through faith...

You are not saved by keeping the law...

You are not saved by doing good deeds...

You do not have to demonstrate speaking in tongues to have the Holy Spirit...

You do not have to endure and prove yourself for some unspecified period of time in order to receive the Holy Spirit..

No, we are saved by grace through faith in the gospel...not of works! And we receive the Holy Spirit by BELIEVING in the gospel!

Galatians 3:2-14
Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? 4 Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— 6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”? 7 Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” 9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. 10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” 11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” 12 But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

Are we called to walk in holiness and purity and reverence? Yes absolutely!

But YOU do not save YOU...

Our works do NOT SAVE US...

YOU are saved by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND FAITH IN JESUS.

📌 NEVER forget this...

It is NOT "the change in a person" that saves a person...

it is the BELIEF in Jesus that saves a person.

WAY too many people get this completely backwards.

Galatians 3:26
For ye are all the children of God by FAITH in Christ Jesus.

Are we changed after we become a child of God (by grace through faith)?

Yes!


📌 How are we changed? Do we instantly become perfect people who don't sin?
NO, we still have fallen sinful flesh, but our SPIRIT is alive through Christ Jesus.

Romans 7:23-25
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

1 Peter 3:18
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,


📌 Do we say that it's totally ok to sin then because of God's grace? No!

Romans 6:1-4
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.


📌 Do we loose our salvation if we sin after we become a child of God (by grace through faith)? Can we loose our salvation?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!

2 Timothy 2:13
13 if we are faithless, He remains faithful— for He cannot deny himself.

Romans 8:31-39

Jude 1:24-25
24 Now to HIM who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.


📌 So then...We are changed because we are REDEEMED and made a new creation by the work of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 6:14-15
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we place our faith upon Jesus, believing the gospel, we are HIS FOREVER.

We (as God's children) still fall and stumble, but God remains faithful through it all.

Trust in the Lord, ask forgiveness when you sin, and know that God will NEVER disown one of His children. He LOVES you!

There is ZERO chance that Jerusalem can be Mystery Babylon according to scripture.

1. The bible says "mystery babylon" will be destroyed NEVER to be a city again (Rev 18:21)

2. The bible says Jerusalem will NEVER be destroyed (Jeremiah 31:35-40, 1 Kings 11:36, 1 Chronicles 23:25)

2. Jerusalem is 100% for sure in existence at the END of the tribulation (Zechariah 14:2-8, Rev 19:19, Daniel 9:24)
