Striving for Firdaus - Strong Muslimah Series
Event starts: Saturday, April 8, 2023 02:00 PM America/Edmonton
1. I actually saw a video on how jinns can’t possess humans so I completely let go of that idea. Should I be thinking of this as the exorcism they show in movies? Where the person flies in the air or their eyes get all scary? Do you have them tied up on a chair?
2. Should I be scared of this happening to me? Would we consider this just like any other affiliation such as abuse and think of it as either a punishment from Allah for doing something wrong or a blessing in disguise? That maybe there’s some good in it?
3. Do you need to understand and reflect over the verses that we are reading when performing ruqyah on ourselves or someone else or is it sufficient to just recite?
5. Regarding evil eye, how do I know I have it as opposed to maybe It’s just Allah testing me? The person I heard said that if we say evil eye is real then we’re giving other people power to do things to us which is wrong since only Allah has that power. Same with the jinns, he mentioned that shaitan was the most powerful jinn but Allah said the only thing you can do is whisper and even that we can overcome which is why we are accountable for our own deeds regardless of shaitaans whispers. So then how would jinns less powerful than him have the power to posses ?
4. Did the prophet peace be upon him ever have any care where he helped someone who was possessed? I’m just a bit confused shouldn’t this be a very huge thing that we talk about in the Islamic space and have videos on. Maybe the people I listen to weren’t proper scholars but have many scholars throughout history performed exorcisms and documented them. I feel like it’s weird we don’t have some sort of video proof of this. Why do some people still teach that this doesn’t happen?
Assalamu alaykum shaykha! I was wondering if we can make duas in our mother tongue while in sujood? Especially in fard salahs
If I’m out with my friends alone, it’s not like we’re going to clubs and I am mindful of not raising my voice. This is feeling like that “female are a fitna so should stay in the house” type of thing. Why is it being assumed I’ll do something wrong? Or that if I’m with a mehram he’ll protect me? Because I don’t know if brothers will actually protect me if it’s us alone in a scary situation. Will he be sinful if he doesn’t? What if the only mehram I have is a 14 year old how can he protect me ? Then Is he not considered a mehram? What if I’m stronger than him then what is the mehram even doing ? What is that mehram doing that’s protecting my spirituality to such a extent that I can’t even go out with my friends to eat at a restaurant? Two older guys who are someone’s mehram can also go out to clubs and try to tempt people
I just want to enjoy life so I can be grateful while staying in the limits set by Allah. But I also want to not hate being a woman
