The name of this village is Al-Kawthar and is located 15 km from the city of Granada

The land was purchased in the 1990s to revive and educate Muslims in Spain

They also do activities such as swimming, archery, horse riding, etc.

They really live like the days of Al-Andalus!

This talk analyzes the different representations of the Moriscos’ history in Spanish and Arab thought from the early modern era to today. First, it examines the evolution of the presence of this history in the literature and historic texts of the Spanish golden age (XVIe-XVIIe centuries). Secondly, it studies Spanish and Arab treatment of the subject in the XVIIIe and XIXe centuries, which means through the newspapers, writings of a historical nature, travel literature, novels, plays, etc. Thirdly, the talk explores the contemporary Arab literature and historic representations of the Moriscos’ history, and considers: how did it evolve quantitatively and qualitatively.

al-Qadi Abu Bakr Ibn al-Arabi al-Andalusi was one of the major scholars and judges of the Muslim world. Although he was from al-Andalus which was a place of Islamic learning, he traveled to Sham and Iraq to gain more knowledge.

When the Imam was in Palestine, he visited one of its major cities, Nablus. (which is a twin city to Damascus). Here is what he said about it:

“It's a valley between two mountains. Full of rivers, fruits, shades, and cold flowing water. It's a city of abundant blessings and always full of safety.”
