🔷𝐀𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐥-𝐐𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐲𝐲𝐚𝐡

‘Aisha bint Ahmed al-Qurtubiyyah come from a well known family in the city of Córdoba, al-Andalus.

She was a well mannered poet possessed with purity and eloquence of the Arabic language.

In her days, there was no one in al-Andalus who was equivalent to her in knowledge, understanding, literature, poetry and eloquence of the Arabic language.

She used to speak highly of the rulers of Al-Andalus and address them for her needs.

She was also a good handwriter on writing the Masāhif, she collected many books and had strong dedication to knowledge.

Here is some of her poetry:

أراكَ اللَه فيه ما تريدُ
ولا برحت معاليهِ تزيدُ
فَقد دلّت مخايله على ما
تؤمّله وطالعه السعيدُ
تشوّقتِ الجياد له وهزّ ال
حسام هوى وأشرقتِ البنودُ
فَسوف تراه بدراً في سماءٍ
منَ العليا كواكبه الجنودُ
وكيفَ يخيبُ شبل قد نمتهُ
إِلى العليا ضراغمة أسودُ
فَأنتم آل عامر خير آلٍ
زكا الأبناء منكم والجدودُ
وَليدكم لَدى رأي كشيخ
وَشيخكمُ لدى حربٍ وليدُ

Aisha bint Ahmed al-Qurtubiyyah is also amongst the list of Notable Muslims in the 2002 special edition of Saudi Aramco World.

She died in the year 400 H.

En su día, no había nadie en Al Andalus que fuera equivalente en su conocimiento, entendimiento, literatura, poesía y elocuencia de la lengua Árabe.

Solía hablar bine de los gobernantes del Andalus y solía volver a ellos para las necesidades que tenía.

Tambien era una buena escritora para con la escritura de los Masāhif, coleccionó muchos libros y tenía una dedicación fuerte en cuanto al conocimiento.

Murió en el año 400 H.

🔷Imām ibn Hazm al-Andalusī:

My theory is further proved by the fact that you will never find two persons in love with one another without there being some likeness and agreement of natural attributes between them.

This condition must definitely obtain, even if only to a small degree; the more numerous the resemblances, the greater will be their congeneity and the firmer their affection. It is only necessary to look for this, and you will see it quite plainly on all hands.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) confirmed the matter when he said,

الأَرْوَاحُ جُنُودٌ مُجَنَّدَةٌ فَمَا تَعَارَفَ مِنْهَا ائْتَلَفَ وَمَا تَنَاكَرَ مِنْهَا اخْتَلَفَ ‏"‏

"Souls are like conscripted soldiers; those whom they recognize, they come together, and whom they do not recognize, they stay away.”

[Sahih Muslim]

A pious person is reported as having stated,

"The spirits of believers become aquatinted with one another.”

He was a author of many many books on history of al-Andalus which are very famous and relied upon in the Arabic speaking world.

Both of these big scholars were from al-Andalus, from the malikiyah and contributed to the ummah in their own right.

As for the culture of the woman in Andalus, it was, in fact, deep and diverse. A reason for this was that the Andalusian woman took a share in teaching. As for Andalusian people, they didn’t distinguish between the teaching of men and woman.

In the beginning of the Andalusian state, the Andalusian woman participated in spreading the Maliki Madhab, just as men.

Also, the study of the knowledge of Hadith was very advanced in al-Andalus. It was a place where many female scholars of Ahadith became proficient and participated in the advancement and spreading of Hadith studies in al-Andalus.

From them: Zaynab bint Yusuf ibn Abd al-Barr, who was known to be a pious woman who took Ahadith from her father, Zaynab bint Ibrahim ibn Qarqul, who narrated Ahadith from her father from Jami at-Tirmithi, Umm izz al-Abdariyyah, who narrated from her father Ahadith from Sahih al-Bukhari, as well as Ghadd bint Abdullah, who had a book on Hadith.

Respecto a la cultura de la mujer en Andalus, era, de hecho, profunda y diversa. Una razón por ello era que la mujer andalusí tomaba parte en la enseñanza. En cuanto a la gente Andalusí, no distinguian entre la enseñanza de hombres y mujeres.

Al principio del Estado Andalusí, la mujer participó en la divulgación del Madhab Maliki, de igual maner que los hombres.

Tambien, el estudio del conocimiento del Hadith estana muy avanzado en al-Andalus. Era un lugar donde gran cantidad de mujeres sabias del Hadiz se especializaron y participarin en el avance y la divulgación de estudios del Hadiz en al-Andalus.

Entre ellas: Zaynab bint Yusuf ibn Abd al-Barr, quien era conocida por ser una mujer piadosa quien tomaba Ahadith de su padre, Zaynab bint Ibrahim ibn Qarqul, quien narró Ahadith de su padre de Jami at-Tirmithi, Umm izz al-Alsbdariyyah, quien narró de su padre Ahadith de Sahih al-Bukhari, y también Ghadd bint Abdullah, quien tenía la autoría de un libro sobre Hadiz.
