“Granada, a city in the county of Albīra (a providence in al-Andalus).

The book Anbi’āth al-Islām fī al-Andalus (Resurrecting Islam in al-Andalus) written by the Professor Dr. Alī al-Kettanī, is considered to be one of the best books of Andalusian history.

One of the main topics of the book is how the people of al-Andalus had in impact on the Muslims lands after they were forced to leave al-Andalus. Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia became those places!

Cities which those who came from al-Andalus or had a big impact on include: Tétouan, Fes, Rabat, Oran, Tunisa and many many more.

Amongst the last names you can find today are: al-Rundī (origin from the city of Ronda, southern Spain), al-Mārūrī (origin from the city Morón, southern Spain), al-Mālqī (origin from the city of Málaga, southern Spain)

Many people can be able to trace their linage back to al-Andalus. While some might need some clues to begin their search.

El libro Anbi’āth al-Islām fī al-Andalus (Resucitando el Islam en al-Andalus), escrito por el Profesor Dr. Ali al-Kettani, es considerado a ser uno de los mejores libros de la historia andaluza.

Uno de los tópicos principales del libro es como la gente del al-Andalus tuvo un impacto en las tierras musulmanas después de que fueron forzados a irse del al-Andalus. Marruecos, Argelia y Tunísia se convirtieron en esos lugares!

Ciudades de las cuales vinieron del al-Andalus o tuvieron un impacto en, incluyen: Tetuán, Fez, Rabat, Orán, Túnez y bastantes más.

🔷Households of Andalusian origin in Tétouan.

The Professor Dr. Alī al-Kettanī wrote in his book,Anbi’āth al-Islām fī al-Andalus (Resurrecting Islam in al-Andalus) which is considered to be one of the best books of Andalusian history:

Those who were from the city of Granada (Spain) and migrated during the time of the fall of the city of Granada.

They completely bought along with them their Grandanian Andalusian culture before the colonization of Granada from the Castilians and forcing the Muslims to change their Religion.

It was said from the historian Muhammad Dawud at-Tetouani, “Tétouan was like an exact copy (in similarity) from the last Islamic cities in the land of al-Andalus."

Tetouan had one of the first set of emigrants during the 16th and 17th century.

The Tetouani historian ar-Rahūnī mentioned that there were 475 old household names of Tétouan and from those names 355 still currently remain. Ar-Rahūnī mentioned the 251 origins of these households in his writings. From these households, 75 are of Andalusian origins.

▪️From these households in Tétouan of Andalusian origin that have non-Arabic names are:

al-Bānizī (Ponce), Bāyz (Paez), ar-Ruwiyz (Ruiz), Ghārīsiyā (Garcia), Mārtīl (Martine), Lūqash (Lucas), etc.

A famous scholar from the city of Tetouan who wrote books on the history of his city Tétouan and it’s Andalusian influence.

He began seeking knowledge at a young age traveling to the city of Fās and benefiting from the scholars there. He lived his life of teaching and writing books. He was the student of Imām Muhammad ibn Jafar al-Kettanī.

One of the books he wrote on the history of Tétouan is 10 volumes long!

He mentioned in one of his books:

There were 475 old household names of Tétouan and from those names 355 still currently remain. Ar-Rahūnī mentioned the 251 origins of these households in his writings. From these households, 75 are of Andalusian origins.

Un famoso erudito de la ciudad de Tetuán que escribió libros sobre la historia de su ciudad Tetuán y su influencia andaluza.

El empezó adquiriendo conocimientos a una temprana edad viajando a la ciudad de Fes y beneficiandose de los eruditos de allí. El vivió su vida enseñando y escribiendo libros. El era estudiante del Imām Muhammad ibn Jafar al-Kettanī.

Uno de los libros que escribió sobre la historia de Tetuán es de 10 volumenes larga!

El mencionó en uno de sus libros:
