🔷Imam Qurtubī mentioned in his Tafsīr regarding the Ayah: الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ
Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men). [6/107]
This means ,the people [who] display that they are Praying as if humbly, fearful, and devoted [for Allah]. Like the Fāsiq, he prays so the people can say, “Indeed, He is praying!” [Seeking to admired from the people]
The reality of Riyā’: Seeking what is in the dunya with ‘ibāda.
It’s foundation: Seeking high position/status in the hearts of the people.
Qādhi Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabī al-Andalusī al-Mālikī mentioned one of the types of Riyā:
Displaying Salāh, Sadaqah or beautification/improving the Salāh because of the watching of the people. And from that, he prolongs it [Salāh]

الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ
“Esos que hacen ostentación”
Esto significa, la gente [aquellos] que muestran que están rezando como si humildemente, temiendo y en devoto [para Allah]. Como el Fāsiq, el reza así para que la gente pueda decir, “En efecto, El está rezando!” [Buscando admiración de la gente]
La realidad de Riyā’: Anhelando lo que hay en el dunya con ‘ibāda.
Su base: Anhelando una posición o estatus alto en los corazones de la gente.
Qādhi Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabī al-Andalusī al-Mālikī mencionó uno de los tipos de Riyā:
Presumiendo Salāh, Sadaqah o embellecimiento/mejora del Salāh por las miradas de la gente. Y por eso, lo prolonga [Salāh]

The city used to be called the camel hump of al-Andalus.
It is distinguished for its fame and well known famous people.”
