♦️Bab Okla, Tétouan.

Built by Andalusian descendants , the Bab Okla was built around 10th Century Hijrah (16th Century), around 400 years ago.

It is considered one of the seven main gates of the City of Tétouan. In the past, it was known as, ‘the Gate of the Sea’, due to the gate being on the way of the Mediterranean Sea.

This city also known as, “little Marrakesh” is known to be one of the oldest cities in Morocco with much rich history and heritage.

Under the rule of the Almoravids (also known famously in Arabic as, al-Murātibūn), the state with its territory stretching from Al-Andalus to southern Morocco, briefly helped made the city of Tarodant become a place of administration.

The Amīr, Yoūsef Ibn Tashfīn who unified the Muslims in Al-Andalus helped established this city with its construction and it’s architectural land.
