Al-Miyār al-Mu’rib. 13 volumes and is a collection of Fatāwā from Ulama from Tunis, Morocco and al-Andalus. The author beind the work was Shaykh Ahmed ibn Yaha al-Wansharīsī al-Mālikī.

The Fawātā include: Warnings against Bidah, al-Wala wal-Bara, legal rulings from ulama during Fitnah in al-Andalus, rulings on situation of the Muslims during the fall of in al-Andalus, etc.

It is important for a student to look deeply into what the Ulama would say in their Fatāwā. So we can try to understand and get into their minds to why they have the rulings behind it.

The situation of an era is also important because it helps to understand how the Ulama dealt with trying to fix the situation of the Muslims during trails.

The conversation between Muhammad Ibn Kulaib and ibn Hazm al-Andalusī in the city of Córdoba.

Ibn Kulaib cried out, "You (Ibn Hazm) are a born theorist, and theorists have no particular relevance to Love.”

♦️Zayād ibn Abd ar-Rahmān al-Lakhmī al-Qurtubī, is the first who entered the Muwata to the land of al-Andalus. Also, he is the the first to enter the fiqh of Imām Mālik to al-Andalus. Before that he was on concordance with Imām Awzā’iī (in fiqh).

♦️One of the best biographies you will read on Ibn Hazm from the top scholar Muntasir Billah al-Kettanī, who was a former Muhadith of the Haramayn. (grandfather of Shaykh Hassan and Hamza Kettanī).

Shaykh Muntasir wrote this book on the collection of Fiqh opinions of ibn Hazm. He wrote a biography of ibn Hazm in his book which is amazing. Full of details of ibn Hazm his way in Fiqh and Hadith. It will help you understand how ibn Hazm was as a scholar and why the Ulama afterwards respected him.

Here is what some of what the Shaykh Muntasir said (May Allah have mercy on him):

He is a Mufasir with the Mufasirīn, a Muhadith with the Muhadithin, a Hafidh with the Hufafh, Fiqhi with the Fuqaha, Muqari with the Muqariīn, an Usooli with the Usooliīn, a Mutakalim with the Mutakalmīn, a Filusi (Philosopher) with the Fulāsa (Philosophers), a Zāid (Ascetic) with the Zuhhad, an Abd (Slave) with the Aubbad, a Daiī to Allah from the Du’ah, an Adīb (well-mannered) with the Adbā’a, a Laghawi (linguistic) with the Laghwiīn, a Kātib (writer) with the Kutāb, a Shā’ir (poet) with the Shu’arā’a, a Khatīb (speaker) with the Khutabāa, a Muarrikh (Historian) with the Muarrikhīn, a Ruays (leader) from the Ru’sāa, a Wazīr from the Wazarā, a Hākim (wise) with Hukkām.”

Shaykh Muntasir al-Kettanī also mentioned about ibn hazm in his bio about his way of understanding fiqh of Ahlul-Bayt, the Sahaba, the Tābi’īn, his manners, explaining why he wrote al-Muhala, etc.

Built by Andalusian descendants , the Bab Okla was built around 10th Century Hijrah (16th Century), around 400 years ago.

It is considered one of the seven main gates of the City of Tétouan. In the past, it was known as, ‘the Gate of the Sea’, due to the gate being on the way of the Mediterranean Sea.
