While walking around the city of Tetouan, I found some interesting Andalusian related history.
This is a door of a house was built by an Andalusian family. It includes a courtyard and columns that was made in the 16th century.
The city of Tetouan and Chefchouen is known to have a strong impact of Andalusian history and culture. Many of the Andalusians came and settled down in these two cities after the fall of al-Andalus.

♦️One of the most biggest scholars to ever walk on this planet was a scholar from al-Andalus named Baqī ibn Makhlad.
Shaykh Sa’īd al-Kamalī narrates this beautiful story how this scholar helped spread Āhadīth to al-Andalus.
In this story, Imām ibn Makhlad al-Andalusī traveled from all the way to Baghdad from al-Andalus (and back) and pretended to be a beggar so he could learn from Imām Ahmed ibn Hanbal.
A map is provided to show the long distance it is to travel from al-Andalus to Baghdad.
Imām ibn Hazm al-Andalusī considered the Musnad of Baqī ibn Makhlad to be better than the Musnad of Ahmed. (Not all ‘Ulamā’ agreed to this statement)

♦️On the topic of Hasad (Envy), from two major scholars of Tafsir who were from al-Andalus, Imām ibn Juzay and Imām Qurtubī.
On Tafsir of the Ayah:
وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
And from the evil of the envious when he envies. [Surah al-Falaq].
♦️Imām ibn Juzay al-Andalusī mentioned in his book, at-Tashīl li-Ulūm at-Tanzīl:
❝Some ‘Ulamā said:
al-Hasad (envy) is the first grave sin committed in disobedience of Allah, in the Heaven and the Earth.
As for the in Heaven:
Iblīs had envy for Adam.
And as for on the Earth:
Qābīl killed his brother Hābīl with the reason of having Hasad (envy).❞
♦️Imām Qurtubi mentioned in his book, al-Jāmi li-Ahkām al-Qurān:
❝Al-Hasad (envy) is the first sin committed in disobedience in the Heaven and the first sin committed in disobedience on the Earth.
Iblīs had Envy for Adam and Qābil had envy for Hābīl.❞
In many books of Tafsir you will find the ‘ulamā mentioning almost the same statements in their books.
Nowadays we find many want to read the advanced books of Tafsir before starting from the easier written Tafsir books.
The Tafsir from Imām Ibn Juzay is an excellent work that is suitable for beginners. You will find most of what he says in the more advanced book of Tafsir from Imām Qurtubī.
So start slow, no rushing for a beginner!
