♦️Chefchaouen, the city that is literally like al-Andalus!
Many of us know the famous blue city that rests on near the high Rif mountain range in Morroco. The city has much Andalusian history, which one can be able to see, all over when walking around the town.
The city was founded by Milay Ali ibn Rashid who was resisting Portuguese occupation. He helped build the foundations of this city by building military defenses, bathhouses and the big mosque in the heart of the city.
After the fall Muslim rule in al-Andalus around 897 AH (1492), waves of Muslims made their way from Europe and settled in Chefchouen. This lasted all the way up until the Spanish expelling the last Andalusians around 11th century after Hijrah (17th century).
This caused the city to have a strong impact of Andalusian culture. The buildings and stores were then constructed just like how they were in al-Andalus. All due to the fact of the inhabitants of Chefchouen having Andalusian roots.
It’s a beautiful city that has much places to shop in and amazing views of city. Every step you take in the city it will really remind you how al-Andalus was like and how rich the Andalusian culture was.

Ibn Hazm al-Andalusī:
Could anything more frightful be conceived, or could aught more painful enter into the thoughts of man, than that two lovers should break off their relations with reproaches, and then be overtaken by a sudden parting before reconciliation can be effected and the tangled knot of desertion be resolved?
Imagine their feelings as they stand to bid adieu to one another: all reproaches are forgotten in the face of this catastrophe, which has overwhelmed their faculties and banished sleep from their eyes.

This is a door of a house was built by an Andalusian family. It includes a courtyard and columns that was made in the 16th century.
The city of Tetouan and Chefchouen is known to have a strong impact of Andalusian history and culture. Many of the Andalusians came and settled down in these two cities after the fall of al-Andalus.

♦️One of the most biggest scholars to ever walk on this planet was a scholar from al-Andalus named Baqī ibn Makhlad.
Shaykh Sa’īd al-Kamalī narrates this beautiful story how this scholar helped spread Āhadīth to al-Andalus.
In this story, Imām ibn Makhlad al-Andalusī traveled from all the way to Baghdad from al-Andalus (and back) and pretended to be a beggar so he could learn from Imām Ahmed ibn Hanbal.
A map is provided to show the long distance it is to travel from al-Andalus to Baghdad.
Imām ibn Hazm al-Andalusī considered the Musnad of Baqī ibn Makhlad to be better than the Musnad of Ahmed. (Not all ‘Ulamā’ agreed to this statement)
