UEFA confirmed the Champions League knockout phase play off draw schedule.

The draw happens on Friday 30 January 2026 at 12:00 CET in Nyon. You will see the 16 teams that finish 9th to 24th in the league phase. The top eight teams skip this round and go straight to the round of 16.

Here is the key part. UEFA pairs teams by league phase positions, then puts them into seeded and unseeded groups. The seeded pairs sit in positions 9 to 16. The unseeded pairs sit in positions 17 to 24. Then the draw places seeded teams into the bracket against unseeded teams based on that ranking.

You can also get same nation matchups in this round, and teams can face opponents they already played in the league phase.

Match dates stay tight. First legs take place on 17 or 18 February. Second legs follow on 24 or 25 February. The winners move on to the round of 16 draw on 27 February.
