Q-Will ONGC recruit this year?
A- I could not find any reason why ONGC wont recruit this year or the years coming ahead. So forget about that. Even last year recruitment through GATE will take place. Soon you will get notice. We are also waiting for the same.
Q- I am not getting proper guidance in Petroprivate coaching, I have also paid fees there. faculties are not serious only one facilty teaching all subjects.. they are themselves not qualified. They r only concirned with their business.. I am from middle class. I came far away from south. I feel like being robbed. What should i do?

A- First u should ask for refund from the coaching centre immedietely. This is ur right. If u feel like Money u have paid is wasted and they are not returning it, then there is no need to argue.
Take lesson from the mistake. Your time is more important than theres. They are just doing their thing. Then try to be focused on your own self study. Petroleum engineering gate can be easily prepared by self study. Only 2500 students sits out of which only less than 500 u can say are really serious. No need to idealise such people and waste money on such institutions and start focusing on ur own future seriously.
Attempt as many test as u can to excell gate in petroleum.

A- Firstly, just Joining coaching will not get u a good rank. See, GATE exam requires thorough concept building that will be build when you do SELF STUDY from standard books of Petroleum Engineering. There are no other ways for getting good ranks. While they can try to confuse u via ads, You should better ask independent GATE toppers personally, they will always tell you about books to study according to GATE syllabus. Remember, no question in GATE exam is asked apart from the syllabus provided. So, Study syllabus wise from the standard books. It will take time to cover books but once you complete it, the confidence u get will be enormous. It will develop good command on subject basics required for GATE. You wont be dependent on anyone. And secondly tell me, if in the end, anyway you hv decided to study standard books also then what is the need of material, See their material itself is copied from the standard books only...!! So, you should not waste your time or money depending on people, who themselves doing this in their spare time. At this age you should be smart enough to make your own short notes from standard books. When u make ur own notes from the standard books, u will find how easily u can revise them as well.! And if u find this note making task difficult then friends you have no idea where and with whom you r competing here in GATE exam.!

4-If you find any error/s will u blindly follow them and you wont refer to any standard books?
5-Can you get any assurance from them, that you will get a good rank?
6-In GATE Petroleum Engineering[Gen], rankers with All India Rank between 20 to 40 find it easy to get into ONGC.. Yes or No ?
If for most of the questions you answered No, then u should say NO to their businesses too!! This is GATE exam not ur semester exam that u r trying to crack with class notes.

A- Yes many guys can have same rank based on their numbers in GATE. But then there wont be any lower ranks for the repeated number of ranks above.
example-
Let us say, in GATE both you and one other guy gets AIR-3, then AIR-4 wont be there.
Similarly if 5 guys are having AIR-6 rank based on their numbers in GATE then, GATE result wont have 7,8,9,10 &11 ranks and u will have Rank AIR-12 after AIR-6.
In ONGC, GATE Score is used for calculations of aggregate marks. If two candidates having same score then based on their ages, in the list the older one will be considered above the person with lower age.
