Ḥabīb ibn Ubayd al-Ḥimṣī (rahimahu’Allah) said:

“Learn knowledge, understand it, and benefit from it. Do not learn it merely to beautify yourselves with it.

For it is likely, if your life is prolonged, that people will adorn themselves with knowledge just as a man adorns himself with his clothes.”

Shuayb ibn Harb rahimahu'Allah said:

“The correct view, which is that which majority of the scholars are upon and of most of the Companions, is that it is prohibited for a woman to look at a man who is not her mahram (al-ajnabi), just as it is prohibited for him to look at her.”

‎Mālik, the father of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), died as a disbeliever because the Prophet ﷺ forbade wine.

‎He said to his wife Umm Sulaym, the mother of Anas: “Indeed this man, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, forbids wine!”

‎So he departed until he reached al-Shām, and he perished there.
