Imām Ash-Shāfi’ī rahimahullāh said:

“Withdrawing from people brings enmity, and being too open with them attracts bad companions. So be between withdrawal and openness.”

Abdullah bin Amir purchased a house from Khalid ibn Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt, located in the market, for ninety thousand dirhams.

When night fell, he heard the crying of Khalid's family. He asked his family members, "What is the matter with them?" They replied, "They are weeping over their house that you bought."

He said, "O boy! Go to them and let them know that the house and the money are all theirs."

Imām Al-Qurtubī rahimahullāh said:

“It is necessary to persist in making du’ā and not despair of a response

and to continually maintain hope in both (response and acceptance), and persist in earnestly pleading in du‘ā.

For indeed, Allāh loves those who are persistent in du‘ā”.
