قال الإمام ابن الجوزي - رحمه الله -:

‏فإذا جاء إبليس؛ فقال: كَم تدعوهُ ولا ترى
‏إجابة!؛ فقُل: أنا أتعبّدُ بالدُّعاء.

‏صيد الخاطر (ص222)

Al-Imām Ibn Al-Jawzī rahimahullāh said:

“If Iblīs comes and says how many times have you supplicated to Him (Allāh ﷻ) and have not seen a response? Say: I worship Him through supplication”.

قال إسحاق بن محمد - رحمه اللّٰه -:

‏الدُّنْيا بحر، والآخِرة ساحِل؛ والمركب
‏التّقْوى، والنّاس سَفْر.

Ishāq bin Muhammad rahimahullāh said:

“This world is a sea, the afterlife is a coast, the means of transport is
Taqwā, and people are travellers”.

قال أبو الدرداء - رضي الله عنه -:

‏إذا أصبح الرجل:

‏اجتمع هواه وعقله،

‏فإن كان عقله تبعًا لهواه فيومه يوم سوء،

‏وإن كان هواه تبعًا لعقله فيومُه يومٌ صالح.

‏📙روضة المحبين ١/٦٣٩ — ابن القيم

Abū Dardā (may Allāh be pleased with him) said:

“If a man reaches the morning, his desires and intellect come together. So if his intellect complies with his desires, his day will be a bad day. And if his desires comply with his intellect, his day will be a good day”.
